SAN PIO DA PIETRELCINA IS CELEBRATED AT THE MUSEUM

On the occasion of the holiday dedicated to Padre Pio, in full compliance with the rules for the containment of covid 19, limited groups of visitors and faithful of the Saint flocked to the Museum of Peace - MAMT to visit the emotional paths on the ground floor and on the fifth floor with the chapel dedicated to the saint loved by all.
On the evening of 22 September 2020, connection with San Giovanni Rotondo for the vigil and the celebration of the Eucharist at 2.10 am: the same one in which Saint Pio ascended to heaven.
ANNIVERSARIES AT THE MUSEUM: ONE HUNDRED YEARS SINCE THE BIRTH OF SALVO D’ACQUISTO

The twentieth anniversary is dedicated to the centenary of the birth of Salvo D’Acquisto. The president recalled the deputy brigadier who sacrificed his life for others. On the 5 floors of the Museum - in full compliance with the rules for Covid - films, unpublished and testimonies were screened.
This event, says President Capasso, wants to pay homage to a commendable figure who honors the Carabinieri and Italy.
On this occasion, President Capasso announced that in the coming months the entire building of the Museum will be dedicated to "The Carabinieri, faithful over the centuries".
On 23 September 1943 - the videos of the Museum announce - the deputy brigadier Salvo D’Acquisto, awarded the gold medal for military valor for memory, sacrificed his life to save that of 22 innocent people.
The previous day - 77 years ago - the explosion of some crates of ammunition killed a German soldier and wounded two. The crates were deposited in an abandoned barracks of the Guardia Di Finanza, in the Torre di Palidoro area and not far from Torrimpietra, where the Carabinieri station commanded by Salvo D’Acquisto stood.
Although it had been an accident, the event was considered by the German militias to be an unscrupulous attack organized by the Italians. D'Acquisto tried to persuade them that it was an accident but the Nazi officer did not give weight to his explanations.
He ordered to round up 22 people at random among the houses of the small town in the Roman province and had them brought near the Tower of Palidoro.
They were all questioned briefly but their version was not heard. Salvo D’Acquisto, given the bad turn taken by events, decided to turn to a Nazi officer and offered his life in exchange for the release of the 22 hostages, already forced to dig their own grave.
It was 5.15pm when Feldwevel Hansel Feiten gave the fatal order. Before dying under German bullets, D'Acquisto shouted "Long live Italy!"
Today, 77 years after his heroic deed and on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of his birth, the Carabinieri commemorated his sacrifice.
In Naples, the interregional commander "Ogaden" general of the army corps Adolfo Fischione, together with the commander of the carabinieri legion Stefanizzi and other officers of the weapon paid homage to the tomb of Salvo D'Acquisto in the Basilica of Santa Chiara and then deposited a laurel wreath at the monument in Piazza Salvo D'Acquisto, in the presence of the prefect Valentini.

Among the celebrations on the occasion of the thirtieth anniversary of the death of Raffaele Capasso - mayor of the reconstruction of San Sebastiano al Vesuvio from 1954 to 1990 - the homage of relatives, friends and administrators to the tomb located in the family chapel of the San Sebastiano cemetery.
The mayor Salvatore Sannino paid tribute to the "Maestro" who traced the path of good administration of the country.
Present were the children of Raffaele Capasso Michele and Pino, the nephew Michele with his wife Cecilia, administrators and friends of the mayor who died prematurely.
Numerous messages received and those present on the FB page specifically dedicated to this occasion.

On the occasion of the thirtieth anniversary of his death, the MAMT - Museum of Peace remembers Raffaele Capasso, Mayor of San Sebastiano al Vesuvio for 35 years and an example of a politician devoted to the "Common Good".
Appreciation for the work carried out by Mayor Capasso by the many visitors who attended in compliance with the "covid 19" rules: all underlined the importance of "Politics" with a capital "P".
For this occasion, a special edition of the volume "IL VIAGGIO DEL SIGNOR NIENTE" dedicated to Raffaele Capasso was released and the Facebook page created for the occasion was projected on the big screens. Some volumes have been distributed.

In compliance with the covid 19 regulations, the ceremony for the tenth anniversary of the “Euro-Mediterranean concert for dialogue between cultures” was held at the Museum of Peace - MAMT: an event that the Foundation held in various countries around the world.
Concerts in Naples (Teatro San Carlo), Rome (Auditorium Parco della Musica), Barcelona and Algiers were proposed on the large screens of the Museum with the magic of surround sound.
Eugenio Bennato, one of the coordinators of the event, testifies to the importance of this event.

On the occasion of the Feast of St. Gennaro two "special" days at the Museum of Peace - MAMT.
In compliance with the regulations for covid-19, visitors will be welcomed for an "emotional" journey dedicated to St. Gennaro and, in particular, to the Miracle of St. Gennaro.
An emotional video, testimonies, documents and images will illustrate one of the most significant miracles that indissolubly bind the city of Naples to its Saint.
