The "Anna Lindh" Euro-Mediterranean Foundation for Dialogue between Cultures (ALF) is a unique organization of its kind created by the European Union and the Mediterranean Partner Countries within the Union for the Mediterranean. It is a network of networks of civil society bodies and institutions (universities, local communities, etc.).
From 2004 to 2017, the Italian Network of the Anna Lindh Foundation represented the largest network of the Anna Lindh Foundation (FAL) and played a substantial role in the birth and development of the institution created by the European Union and partner countries.
The role of the Fondazione Mediterraneo has been and is to perform the function of connection between the various members who actively act for the promotion of dialogue between cultures, promoting the visibility and action of the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership at national and international level.
Since September 2016 the majority of the members of the Italian Network (1,034 out of 1084) have formed the "Anna Lindh Italia Onlus Federation" which has the sole objective of promoting, disseminating and supporting the aims of the FAL.

- the reaction of 1,037 members of the Italian Network who formed themselves in the "Anna Lindh Italia non-profit organization";
- parliamentary questions to the Italian Parliament and the European Parliament;
- the signing of an APPEAL to the President of the Italian Republic and to other authorities (signed by the leaders of the national networks, by the majority of members of the Italian network and by representatives of international institutions).
The dossier is being examined by the Italian and European institutional bodies for a solution.
