Mediterranean Award for Interfaith Dialogue to Cardinal Renato Raffaele Martino

The  Mediterranean Award for Interfaith Dialogue  was attributed to  Cardinal Renato Raffaele Martino.
The Awarding ceremony took place on Friday 23rd September 2011 at the Sala Giunta of San Giacomo Palace.
The award was given by Senator Leonzio Borea and by the mayor of Pietrelcina Domenico Masone.
On that occasion, on the very day of San Pio celebration, a memorandum of understanding was signed by the Commune of Pietrelcina and the Fondazione Mediterraneo, according to which every year there will be meetings on interfaith dialogue and the prize-giving ceremony for this section of the Award will be held  every year at Pietrelcina, with the name of  “  Mediterranean Award San Pio da Pietrelcina for Inter-faith Dialogue”.

Inauguration of the “Totem of Peace” by Mario Molinari at San Giacomo Palace

On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the Unification of Italy, the Mayor of Naples Luigi de Magistris, Cardinal Renato Raffaele Martino, the president of Fondazione Mediterraneo Michele Capasso with Pia Molinari – in charge of the programme “Totem of  Peace” – the Head of the National Community Service Unit Leonzio Borea, The Mayor  of  Pietrelcina Domenico Masone, Mr. Claudio Azzolini together with representatives of the Diplomatic Corps, civil, military and religious authorities inaugurated the monumental work “Totem of Peace” by the sculptor Mario Molinari,  permanently placed at the entrance of  the Sala Giunta in the City Hall of Naples.
On that occasion Naples was designed by Fondazione Mediterraneo as Head of the  “City for Peace” network.

Fondazione Mediterraneo turns 20 years: to the Mayor De Magistris the volumes of Press Release

In occasion of  20° anniversary of  Fondazione Mediterraneo, during a ceremony held in “Junta Hall” of San Giacomo Palace, the president of Fondazione Mediterraneo Michele Capasso dedicated to the Mayor of Naples Luigi de Magistris the first edition of two volumes which recap, through a selection of international press release, twenty years of efforts for dialogue and peace.

“Silver Dolphin” Mediterranean Award Special Edition 2011 to Bagno Elena – Giovanni Morra

The ”Silver Dolphin” Mediterranean Award Special Edition 2011 was conferred on Giovanni Morra’s  Bagno Elena.  
The Awarding ceremony took place on Friday  23rd September 2011  at Bagno Elena.
The award was given by  Michele Capasso.

The “Medal Honour” of the Mediterranean Award 2011 for publishing  has been conferred on  Rosario Bianco.
The Awarding ceremony took place on Friday  23rd September 2011 at Bagno Elena.

The “Medal Honour” of the Mediterranean Award 2011 for  advanced training has been conferred on Gennaro Ferrara.

The award was given by Claudio Azzolini, responsible for institutional relations at  Fondazione Mediterraneo.

Thanks to his  tenacity and to his  ability to maintain good  relations with others, in his capacity as Honorary Consul of Malta and Japan and then as Secretary General of the  Union of Honorary Consuls of Italy, he is a  point of  reference for diplomacy and, in particular, for the role of “Honorary Consul” that represents an important connection between the  cities and the different Countries in the world, even more in  a moment of  changes in the global scenario”.
