National Meeting ALF Italian Network

The National Meeting of the ALF Italian Network took place in Naples at Fondazione Mediterraneo.

President of Fondazione Mediterraneo Michele Capasso made an opening speech welcoming the participants, then Andreu Claret, Executive Director of the "Anna Lindh" Foundation intervened, in video-conference, illustrating the new ALF guidelines. Claret also congratulated the Italian Network for the quantity and the quality of the activities carried out.

Various proposals have been examinated including one to concentrate scarce resources on relevant initiatives useful to solve problems arised from the latest revolutions in Arab countries.

Meeting with Milan Archibishop Angelo Scola

Michele Capasso, Pia Molinari and members of Fondazione Mediterraneo congratulated with the new Arcibishop of  Milan S.E.za Angelo Scola, former Venice Patriarch, which joined to Rome to the ceremony for the assignment of Mediterranean Award for Interreligious Dialogue assigned  to Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem Fouad Twal.

The house which cannot forget colours

On the pages of “La Stampa” newspaper has been published an article titled “The House which cannot forget colours” about the House of Mario Molinari, creator of Totem for Peace.

Agreement between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Campania Region

The Ministery of Foreign Affairs and the Campania Region signed an agreement to plan common actions for the promotion of the regional system abroad.

The agreement was signed by the Minister Franco Frattini and the President Stefano Caldoro.

The ratification was signed during the international conference promoted by the Campania Region and IPALMO on the theme: "The Arab Spring and Europe:how to react."

Agreement Libia/Italy

The Minister of Foreign Affairs Franco Frattini and the Prime Minister of Cnt Mahmud Jibril signed an agreement of cooperation on migration.

The ratification was signed during the international conference promoted by the Campania Region and IPALMO on the theme: "The Arab Spring and Europe:how to react."

Meeting with Youssef Amrani

President Michele Capasso, together with the Ambassador of Morocco Hassan Abouyoub and Pia Molinari, met the Secretary General of the Union for the Mediterranean Youssef Amrani.

During the meeting President Capasso illustrated the 20 years activity of Fondazione Mediterraneo, first in the framework of the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership and then in that of the Union for the Mediterranean.

The Secretary General Amrani expressed his appreciation for the action carried out by FM "for the quality and the quantity of the activities realized to promote dialogue and peace".

Andreu Claret visits the Tricolored Totem for Peace

Andreu Claret, Executive Director of the "Anna Lindh" Foundation, together with the President of Fondazione Mediterraneo Michele Capasso and Pia Molinari, responsible of the programme "Totem for Peace", visited the Tricolored Totem for Peace by Molinari allocated in Naples in front of the Diocesan Museum.

"It is an importand symbol which is spreading around the world - said Claret - and the "Anna Lindh" Foundation joined this project as one of the main partners".

The Arab Spring and Europe: how to react

The President of Fondazione Mediterraneo Michele Capasso and the Responsibie of the Programme "Totem for Peace" Pia Molinari, took part to the International Conference The Arab Spring and Europe: how to react which took place in Naples on June the 16th and 17th.

In his speech President Capasso underlined the role of Fondazione Mediterraneo during the last 20 years and he illustrated initiatives such as the Euromed and Arab Youth Forums and the actions in favour of Tunisia, Libia and Egypt.

Took part to the Conference "Conversazione sul Mare: perché il Mediterraneo brucia": Thameur Mekki (independent journalist Tunisia), Kerim Bouzouita (journalist and cyber journalist Tunisia), Leila Chaibi (director), Enza Amici (Uniti per la Libertà - Carovana Italia Tunisia/Libia).
