WINNERS ANNOUNCED FOR THE LANDMARK 10TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE MEDITERRANEAN JOURNALIST AWARDS

Brussels, 6 December - Winners of the 10th edition of the Mediterranean Journalist Awards were announced by HRH Princess Rym Ali of Jordan at the International Bestowing Ceremony that took place in the premises of the European Parliament in Brussels. The event brought together the Mediterranean Journalist Awards Alumni, young leaders from across the Euro-Med region and civil society and international organization representatives.
The Winners of the 10th Edition of the Mediterranean Journalist Awards were selected during the Jury Members meeting that took place on the same day. Princess Rym Ali headed the International Jury committee of the 2017 Awards: Naglaa Emary, media expert; Gisele Khoury, President of the Samir Kassir Foundation; Robert Parsons, Senior editor at France 24; Paola Parri, Deputy Secretary General of COPEAM; Michael Thoss, Allianz of Civilization; and Boyko Vassilev, Bulgarian National Television.

TRAINING COURSE ON THE EVOLUTION OF THE JOURNALISTIC PROFESSION

The Foundation with the Peace Museum - MAMT hosted the training course organized by the Order of Journalists of Campania and "Kompetere" with the theme "EVOLUTION OF THE PROFESSIONAL JOURNALISM".
Among the speakers Massimiliano Musto and Francesco Giorgino.
President Michele Capasso hosted the participants in the "Solidarity Market" dedicated to Syrian women victims of the war and to the "Oratorio S.Maria Mazzarello" of Torre Annunziata.

OPENS THE MARKET FOR SOLIDARITY IN FAVOUR OF SYRIAN WOMEN VICTIMS OF THE WAR AND THE "ORATORY S. MARIA MAZZARELLO" OF TORRE ANNUNZIATA

In the presence of Francesco Giorgino and journalists participating in the Formation Seminar, the "Solidarity Market" was opened on the ground floor of the Peace Museum - MAMT.
Quality products donated by manufacturers are available to the public. The offers will be addressed to Syrian women victims of the war and to the Oratory "S". Maria Mazzarello "of Torre Annunziata.
President Capasso thanked the speakers and all those who made this initiative of solidarity possible.

The participants in the "IV Emergency Ultrasound Ultrasound course" visited the Museum of Peace - MAMT, expressing admiration for a place "not rare, but unique".
Accompanied by President Michele Capasso and by the President of the course Prof. Giuseppe Morelli Coppola, Prof. Gianfranco Vallone, Roberto Farina and Dr. Fiorella Palladino, Elvio De Blasio and Marco Garrone from the Mauritian Hospital of Turin alternated.

MED 2017

MED 2017 is the 3rd edition of the annual high–level initiative, co–organized by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Italian Institute for International Political Studies (ISPI). This event is intended to turn Rome into a global hub for high–level dialogues on the broader Mediterranean, with a view to re–thinking traditional approaches and drafting a new "positive agenda".
The president of the Fondazione Mediterraneo Michele Capasso underlined the importance of the meetings and the role that the Foundation has had since 1989 when "little was said about the Mediterranean".
In particular, he recalled the importance of the "Euromed Civil Forum" and, in particular, that of Naples, which is celebrated in just a few days. On that occasion, 3,000 participants from 36 countries emphasized the importance of dialogue and coexistence as fundamental pillars for cooperation and peace.

DOCTORS EMPLOYED FOR SOLIDARITY WITH THE FONDAZIONE MEDITERRANEO

Many doctors participating in the "IV Emergency Ultrasound Ultrasound Course", led by Dr. Marco Garrone of the Mauritian Hospital in Turin and Dr. Stefania Tamburrini of the Ospedale Vecchio Pellegrini in Naples, have expressed their willingness to train doctors and staff of facilities in disadvantaged countries of the Southern Riva of the Mediterranean and Africa.

ANNA LINDH FEDERATION: "KIMIYYA" BECOMES SYMBOL OF LEGALITY AND FIGHTING AT THE MAFIA

On the occasion of the "23rd SUMMARY ANTIMAFIA", the President of the Fondazione Mediterraneo Michele Capasso and the President of the Fondazione Caponnetto Salvatore Calleri presented the results of the interrete activity "KIMIYYA. THE EQUIPMENT WOMEN OF DIALOGUE "held in Naples from 12 to 15 September 2017.
The participants in the summit - from the journalist Paolo Borrometi to the MEP Sonia Alfano, from Giuseppe Antoci to Judge Catello Maresca, from the Procurators of the Republic of the principal prosecutors to the heads of the Police Forces - signed the manifesto of "KIMIYYYA", recognizing the action taken as having a high significance to enhance the role of women in the fight against crime and mafias.

The Federation Anna Lindh Italia Onlus - a network of 1,000 Italian organizations working for dialogue and international cooperation - has collaborated in the "XXIIIrd ANTIMAFIA NATIONAL SUMMIT" organized by the Caponnetto Foundation and OMCOM, among the founding members of the "Federation".

XXIII° SUMMIT NATIONAL ANTI-MAFIA

The "XXIIIrd National Anti-Mafia Summit", organized by the Caponnetto Foundation in collaboration with the Fondazione Mediterraneo, OMCOM, the "Federazione Anna Lindh Italia - Onlus" and the Municipality of Bagno a Ripoli, took place in Florence.
This year's theme is "HAS WITH THE FIGHT TO MAFIA?
Among the interventions were those by senators Giuseppe Lumia and Mario Giarrusso, magistrate Catello Maresca, colonel Giorgio Giombetti, journalists Paolo Borrometi, Martin De Sà Pinto, Giuseppe Antoci and others.
The President of the Fondazione Caponnetto Salvatore Calleri underlined the topicality of the summit wanted by Antonino Caponnetto precisely to "keep guard high" against the mafias, organized crime and terrorism that develops with extreme speed adapting to the changing times.
The President of the Fondazione Mediterraneo, Michele Capasso, drew attention to the role of Europe and the need to combat any "mafia-like" attitude that invades our societies, recalling the commitment of the activities of the Fondazione Mediterraneo on this issue since 1994.
On this occasion the project "All the Mediterranean mafias" was presented.
