MEETING ON THE THEME "THE PEACE MUSEUM - MAMT: EMOTIONS FOR YOUNG PRODUCERS OF THE FUTURE"

Continue at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples the review "The Museums today: issues of protection, conservation, education and management": a series of meetings in memory of Gerardo Marotta by the Institute of Art History of the same Academy , coordinated by Viviana Farina.
The professors of the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples assist the speakers by animating the dialogue on the topics covered: on this occasion the proff. Michele Capasso (President of the Fondazione Mediterraneo and the Museum of Peace) and Massimo Pica Ciamarra (Coordinator of the project of the Foundation "The cities of dialogue").
The topics covered (with videos and multimedia documents) were: The Museum of Peace - MAMT: emotions for young producers of the future and what future for the city of dialogue.Present at the meeting the director of the Museum of Peace - MAMT Pia Molinari.The works were introduced by the Director of the Academy of Fine Arts prof. Giuseppe Gaeta.On this occasion the prof. Michele Capasso recalled the affectionate bond with the lawyer. Marotta and her appreciation for the nascent Peace Museum - MAMT.

THE BASS AND THE RINO ZURZOLO INSTRUMENTS AT THE MUSEUM OF PEACE - MAMT

Valentina, wife of the late Rino Zurzolo - musician and inseparable friend of Pino Daniele - took to the Museum of Peace - MAMT, in the study of the "Pino Daniele Alive" section, the classic bass and other Rino instruments that recall the beautiful moments in which he performed with Pino Daniele. An exciting moment to remember the bass player, the musician and the teacher of the Conservatory.

THE TOTEM FOR PEACE IS COMPLETED AT THE ORATORY "MOTHER MAZZARELLO" OF THE FMA

The president Michele Capasso and Pia Molinari carried out a last inspection to verify the last details of the work "Totem of Peace" put as a redevelopment of the courtyard of the oratory of FMA "Mother Mazzarello" in Torre Annunziata.
Welcomed by Sister Marianna and Sister Angela, they had the opportunity to place the "Totem of Peace" by Mario Molinari and to define the criteria for the intervention of the sugnizzi "Peace Carriers" hut on the side panels of the work itself.

THE SOLIDARITY MARKET FOR THE ORATORY "MOTHER MAZZARELLO" OF TORRE ANNUNZIATA

Large turnout of the public at the "Solidarity market” for the Mother Mazzarello Oratory of Torre Annunziata.
After a moment of common prayer in the Chapel with the relics of Don Bosco and Mother Mazzarello, a group of FMA teachers and nuns from the Naples-Vomero Institute visited the "Market" hoping that the generosity of many could allow the restoration of the floor of the Torre Annunziata Oratory.

FMA teachers and Sisters of the Naples-Vomero Institute together with visitors from Sicily and Palermo visited the "Pino Daniele Alive" section of the Peace Museum expressing appreciation for the testimonies about the great musician.

The teachers of the Institute of the figlie di Maria Ausiliatrice of Naples-Vomero visited the "Museum of Peace - MAMT" and the emotional paths dedicated to Don Bosco and Mother Mazzarello.
On this occasion there was a moment of common prayer in the Chapel with the relics of Don Bosco and Mother Mazzarello.
The visit continued with the other sections of the Museum: from the Mosque to "Pino Daniele Alive".

CELEBRATED 20 YEARS OF THE EURO-MEDITERRANEAN CIVIL FORUM IN NAPLES

The main organizers of the "Euromed Civil Forum" held in Naples on 12,13 and 14 December 1997, celebrated the 20th anniversary of the important event which, with about 3,000 participants from 36 countries, outlined the path for Euro-Mediterranean dialogue and cooperation.
In the presence of diplomats from various countries, President Capasso - together with Caterina Arcidiacono, Esther Fouchier and Maria Angels Roque (responsible for that event) - reviewed the main stages that led to that event and the subsequent developments with the realization of the main projects proposed.

XIa EDITION: ASSIGNED THE EUROMED AWARD 2017

The juries made up of members of the 42 National Networks of the Anna Lindh Foundation awarded the "Euromed Award 2017" to the association "INTERNATIONAL BAND", an organisation based in Germany.
The ceremony was held in Tallinn (Estonia) at the “Estonian Film Museum “ with the support of the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Award was given by the Executive Director of the Anna Lindh Foundation, Hatem Atallah, and the President of the Mediterranean Foundation, Michele Capasso. The Award is representative of the action of the Anna Lindh Foundation and the Fondazione Mediterraneo in promoting an alternative to extremism and terrorism in the societies of the North and South of the Mediterranean.
During the ceremony, the President of the Fondazione Mediterraneo recalled the importance of the commitment to migrants and gave to the winners the work of Mario Molinari “TOTEM OF PEACE”.
This year's Euromed Award recognized the best initiatives aimed at encouraging refugees to be welcome as actors for intercultural dialogue.
The Jury of the prize is composed of representatives of ALF networks and famous personalities in the field of migration: among them Giusy Nicolini, former mayor of Lampedusa and UNESCO Peace Prize.
Launched in 2006 by the Fondazione Mediterraneo as part of the "Mediterranean Award", the Euro-Med Dialogue Award has reached its eleventh edition. Organizations working in the cultural and artistic field have been rewarded in the past, as well as initiatives that address the challenges of interculturality by pathways such as peaceful conflict resolution and sustainable environment. Among the people who received the Prize, Father Paolo Dall'Oglio of the Syrian Monastery Mar Musa, winner of the first Anna Lindh Euro-Med Award, kidnapped in Syria since 2013 and whose murder is announced these days: President Capasso has turned a thought for his great friend.
On this occasion, the 10 years of the Prize were retraced and its conception was remembered during the "Euromed Civil Forum" in Naples.

MEETING OF THE PRESIDENCY OF THE EUROMED AWARD JURY FOR DIALOGUE BETWEEN CULTURES

The Euromed Award Jury for Dialogue between Cultures met in Tallinn. The composition of the Jury: Fondazione Mediterraneo, Anna Lindh Foundation, Austria, Jordan and then GiusyNicolini (Italy), RistoVeltheim (Finland) and Capoeira (Germany).
On this occasion, the winner for the 2017 edition was selected from the final trio: the association "Banda Internazionale".

THE PRESIDENT CAPASSO ANNOUNCES THE CONTINUATION OF THE EUROMED AWARD

President Michele Capasso, at the conclusion of the award ceremony of the "Euromed Award 2017", announced that - as already happened in other editions - the Fondazione Mediterraneo will host an event on migrants and refugees in 2018, with the participation of the 3 finalists of the Award and the winner "International Band".
