The President of Fondazione Mediterraneo Michele Capasso awarded the Mediterranean Award "Honour Medal" to the Mayor of Pescasseroli Nunzio Finamore for the contribution given to the realisation at Pescasseroli of the Totem of Peace created by the Turin sculptor Mario Molinari.

The President of Fondazione Mediterraneo Michele Capasso awarded the Mediterranean Award "Honour Medal" to the President of the Europarc Federation Erika Stanciu for the contribution given to the safeguard of nature and to the promotion of eco-sustainable and eco-compatible development.
From the 29th of September to the 2nd of October 2010, the National Park of Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise will host the Annual Conference of Europarc-Federation, the European parks and natural reserves Federation. The Conference envisages approximately 20 workshops involving the problems of the park management. 
On the occasion of EUROPARC 2010 at Pescasseroli – an event which brought together representatives of the Parks of European Countries and for the inauguration of the “TOTEM FOR PEACE”, the National Park of Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise was awarded the “Angelo Vassallo” Mediterranean Award for Environment and Co-Development for its actions aiming at protecting the environment and nature.
Breeders from the Southern Regions of Italy protested in front of the Totem for Peace by Molinari during its inauguration at Pescasseroli.
