The Tricolored Totem for Peace by sculptor Mario Molinari, opened in Turin on May 4, became the symbol of many Alpine il simbolo di tanti Alpini who met in Turin for the rally on the occasion of the 150th Anniversary of the Italian Unity.

Special paints of the Sikkens Akzo Nobel, resistant to temperature of 80 degrees, have been used for the Tricolored Totem for Peace inaugurated in Turin on the occasion of the 150th Anniversary of the Italian Unity.

The President of the Republic Giorgio Napolitano participated in Turin to the party for the 150 years of the Italian Army. The Minister for Defence La Russa and the most important military, civil and religious representatives also attended the ceremony.
For the occasion the Fondazione Mediterraneo, together with the Province and the Municipality of Turino, inaugurated the biggest "tricolore" ever realized in Italy: an artwork by sculptor Mario Molinari.

The Mayor of Turin Sergio Chiamparino and the President of the Province of Turin Antonio Saitta expressed deep appreciation for the Fondazione Mediterraneo and the President Michele Capasso.
"Thanks for choosing Turin to realize this symbol of Unity and Peace: it is from almost two decades that the Fondazione Mediterraneo is an institution of reference for the integration of peoples and cultures, which strongly supports the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership". These are the words that Sergio Chiamparino expressed in recognition of the President Capasso and his action.
President Antonio Saitta recalled the action of Fondazione Mediterraneo for peace and the old partnership with the Province of Turin.
