THE MEDITERRANEAN AWARD FOR INSTITUTIONS TO THE PRESIDENT OF URUGUAY JOSÉ MUJICA

4 June 2013 – The President of Uruguay José Mujica, accompanied by a delegation of Uruguayan government officials will make an official visit to the Fondazione Mediterraneo after an audience with Pope Francis I. They will be welcomed by President Michele Capasso and other members of the Fondazione who together will inaugurate the “Uruguayan Room” which for political ethical reasons will be located in the “Euromedcafé Casa Tua For Peace”. On this occasion, there will be a ceremony to present the “Mediterranean Award for Institutions” and the title of "Ambassador of the United States of the World", awarded to President Mujica on the following grounds: “In a world that is increasingly invaded by personal interests, in which every social, political and religious space is used merely to pursue a miserable “Love of Power”, he has been able to shed light, give meaning and force to his “Power of Love”, which means living in modesty and demonstrating by your own deeds that power must not change people, but reveal your deepest true nature”.

THE TOTEM FOR PEACE IN URUGUAY

On the eve of the visit of the President of Uruguay José Mujica at Fondazione Mediterraneo, President Michele Capasso said the “Totem of the Peace” by sculptor Mario Molinari will soon be built in the capital of Uruguay for “ethics in politics”, worthily embodied by President José Mujica.

THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE ITALIAN NETWORK

Was held at Venice from 24 May 25, 2013 at the General Assembly of the Italian network ALF.
The Executive Director attended Andreu Claret, the co-ordinators Michele Capasso, Roberto Russo and Elisa Adorno, pl. Stefano Queirolo Palmas of MAE, the parliamentarian Khalid Chaouki and some members of the network.
After the greetings, the Executive Director of the Foundation “Anna Lindh” Andreu Claret was illustrating the next of the ALF guidelines.
Are then examined various proposals including one to concentrate available resources on a few useful initiatives to implement communication – especially through new social media – and the increased participation of the members of the network.
Of particular interest was the session devoted to the "capacity building" coordinated by the Deputy Director of ANSA Carlo Gambalonga and dedicated to the new media, the Internet and education.
Members present unanimously requested that in the next Step 7 of the Anna Lindh Foundation was assured such an experience in association with the General Assemblies, in order to allow new participants members to introduce themselves and to weave synergies and exchanges of experiences with other members.
The Executive Director Claret, the network leader Capasso and coordinators Russo and Adorno have undertaken to enter into a three-year program of activities that required action by members.

A delegation of the Fondazione Mediterraneo and the Fondazione Caponnetto, headed by Michele Capasso, Antonio Di Lauro and composed, among others, by Councilors Antonio Luongo and Ginetta Caiazzo has hailed the “Ship of Legality” from Naples to Palermo to commemorate the anniversary of the killing of the judge Falcone, Francesca Morvillo and his escort.
