TOTEM FOR PEACE
The "Totem for Peace" is a trademark duly filed in accordance with the regulations. Therefore, any initiatives undertaken by third parties using that trademark or the word "Totem for Peace" in any context and for whatever purpose, it integrates to all intents and purposes the case of trademark infringement.
The "Totem of Peace", the work of the Turin sculptor Mario Molinari, is the symbol of the "United States of the World" and represents the Peace: it was chosen in 1997 by 3,000 representatives of 181 countries and since then the "United States of the World" with the "Fondazione Mediterraneo" are spreading this universal symbol by setting up the network of "Cities for Peace".
The sculptor Mario Molinari was an artist of clear fame, sensitive to the themes of peace and dialogue between cultures, as evidenced by his numerous works and his life.
The cultural project of the "Totem of Peace" is carried out in the world by Michele Capasso: dedicated, since 1987, to the construction of dialogue as a tool for the mediation of conflicts, he combines his international experience of social and intercultural planning and planning with the professional one of architect and engineer.
Many countries have created the monumental work symbolising peace and coexistence between different peoples. Among the main ones are:
The sail that symbolizes the journey, the sea. This “Mare Nostrum” of Ours which was the cradle of civilization, the scene of clashes and battles between the people who inhabited it but also and above all of the exchange of goods and knowledge. A sea celebrated in myth where Ulysses got lost, continuing to wander in his desperate search for his way back. The sail that turns red, at dawn and dusk, at departure and return in the immutable rhythm of the Universe .

The zinc-coated steel structure of “Totem of Peace” has been realized in GIMA factory and will host the grave of “Unknown Migrant”, in occasion of the “Mediterranean and Migrants Day” (21 March 2015) and the 150° Anniversary of Port Captaincy - Coast Guard. The monumental art work will be installed in front of Naples Stazione Marittima.

It will be realised in Brasil, in the capital city of Mato Grosso, Cuiabà, the Mario Molinari’s“Totem of Peace”. Here there is the geodetic Center of South America (15 ° 35'56 coordinate north , 80 south latitude and 56°06'05 55 west longitude). Situated in the square Pascal Moreira Cabral, was determinated by Rondon in 1909. The square known as Campo d'Ourique, where were gathered punished slaves and Cavalhadas and corridas. Since 1972 started to work Legislative Assembly of Mato Grosso, today in charge of Cuiabá City.
“An important moment– declared padre Eliso de Oliveira, supporter of the project- because the Totem, heart of peace, will embrace all Latin American Population. The Pope will be happy of this initiative and we are hoping he can come to inaugurated it”.

At the eve of Celebrations for the 150° Anniversary of Italian Port Authority has been taken the decision to – in consequence of a meeting between president Michele Capasso and the General Captain Admiral Felicio Angrisano – that “Totem of Peace” by sculptor Mario Molinari represents the 150° Anniversary of the Army.
The idea is to realize the monumental art work in the Naples Harbour for this occasion and entitle it to the “Unknown Migrant”, as a sign of gratitude towards the work done by port authority for the migrants.
An urn with the remains of “Unknown Migrant” will take place in the monument.

Under the definition of “Euromediterranean Olympics” Fondazione Mediterraneo hosted several events in its headquarter and between them took place. The meeting of 42 ambassadors at SOM of Mediterranean Union, with general secretary Sijilmassi. Those one of ambassadors member of Lindh foundation’s Board of Governors and the Consultative Committee’s members and National Networks leader. The last euromediterranean meeting with media and European Committee Štefan Füle which focused on next projects, Romano Prodi conferences which focused on the next plans. Euromediterranean Dialogue Italian Network General Assembly. At the end “Mediterranean Award” ceremony has been held and the person awarded were: Romano Prodi, Štefan Füle, Simone Camilli, Pino Daniele, Serge Telle, Maurizio Marinella, Antonio de Martino, Israelian and Palestinian mothers and Artisans of Algeri, Felicio Angrisano, Andreu Claret. All these projects "Totem for Peace" of Mario Molinari: red sail which symbolically represents peace and it is particullary important in this historical moment, as it has been defined by the participants, for the importance of achieved aims.
