CASA UNIVERSALE DELLE CULTURE

The Maison de la Paix - Casa Universale delle Culture is a place strongly representative, in which will convey the knowledge of the different identities and cultures, structuring permanently initiatives aimed at the spreading of peace, necessary for the shared development.

The Maison de la Paix - Casa Universale delle Culture (MdP) is a project conceived by Michele Capasso, approved by many Countries and international organizations. It is an architecture that keeps the memory of many Peace activities which created history, often more than the wars, but it is – above all – a space "to build” Peace.

The architectonical complex has an important symbolic worth: it represents the Countries of the World engaged in the Peace process and the Countries victim of the conflicts.

Proposed by the Fondazione Mediterraneo with the Maison des Alliances – together with the main adherent organizations, such as the Mediterranean Parliamentary Assembly, the League of Arab States, the "Anna Lindh" Euro-Mediterranean Foundation and others, the MdP represents a referent point for all the ones who dedicate their lives to peace.

The symbol of the MdP is the "Totem for Peace", an artwork by the Italian sculptor Mario Molinari which the Fondazione Mediterraneo is promoting all around the world, creating the network of the "Cities for Peace".

The first seat of the MdP was inaugurated on the 14th of June 2010 (Maison de la Paix - Casa Universale delle Culture) in the historical building of the Grand Hotel de Londres in Naples.

The action of the Maison de la Paix - Casa Universale delle Culture aims at improving the main activities of the "Universal Forum of Cultures" in: Barcelona (2004), Monterrey (2007), Valparaiso (2010) and Naples (2013).

The Maison de la Paix performs most of the initiatives jointly with the Maison de la Méditerranée.

 

During the 25th anniversary of the birth of Fondazione Mediterraneo, President Michele Capasso with Claudio Azzolini, Pia Molinari, Jacopo Molinari and other members of the Foundation have  met with Ambassadors and diplomats from various countries who cooperated in the course of a quarter of a century with the foundation.
On this occasion, copies of the 25th anniversary’s book were donated to present to participants and initiatives have been outlined. The diplomats expressed their satisfaction for the concrete actions undertaken by the Foundation and its President Capasso in this quarter of a century by saying that some of these "had an impact on the historical process."

During the 25th anniversary of the birth of “Fondazione Mediterraneo”, President Michele Capasso with Claudio Azzolini, Pia Molinari and Jacopo Molinari met at CASD - Centre for High Defence Studies - Chairman Admiral Rinaldo Veri to retrace the main stages of the Foundation. On this occasion, a copy of the book of the 25th anniversary has been given to the President Veri  and  initatives have been outlined . The President expressed his satisfaction with and He wished to continue the work undertaken.

On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the birth of the Mediterranean Foundation, President Michele Capasso with Claudio Azzolini, Pia Molinari, Jacopo Molinari and other members of the Foundation - including diplomats from various countries - have welcomed the President of the Senate Pietro Grasso and Ms. Maria to retrace the main steps of diligent work for peace and dialogue.
On this occasion has been given to the President a copy of the book Fat of the twenty-five years and has illustrated the planned initiatives.
The President expressed his satisfaction Fat and hoped to be able to continue the work, especially the one concerning the issues of legality and hospitality.

During the 25th anniversary of the birth of “Fondazione Mediterraneo”, President Michele Capasso with Claudio Azzolini, Pia Molinari and Jacopo Molinari met at CASD - Centre for High Defence Studies - Chairman Admiral Rinaldo Veri to retrace the main stages of the Foundation. were received at the Vatican by His Eminence Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State at the Holy See. The Cardinal Parolin expressed his satisfaction and he called to continue on the path set based on humility, solidarity and the common good.

Kuwaiti Ambassador here Sheikh Ali Khalid Al-Jaber Al-Sabah has become acquainted with the leading role played by the Euro-Mediterranean Foundation for the Dialogue Between Cultures for a quarter of a century.
This came during a meeting between the Kuwaiti diplomat with President of the Foundation, Michele Capasso, who received him at the Foundation's headquarters in Naples.
Sheikh Ali was briefed about the Foundation's various activities in the Mediterranean region and the Arabian Gulf.
The two men exchanged views on the current global issues and challenges, especially in the Arab region and the Mediterranean including the concerted efforts of Italy, which is preparing to take over the presidency of the European Union, and Kuwait, which chairs the Arab League and the GCC, in the promotion of dialogue and understanding to resolve the crises.
In this regard, Sheikh Ali and Capasso also noted the distinct and pioneering role played by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah in various forums throughout the four historic decades and his wise leadership in the service of peace and international cooperation and development, as well as his perseverance and tireless efforts in enhancing security and regional stability.
The two sides also addressed His Highness the Amir's efforts and sponsorship of initiatives aimed at addressing the human concerns and major global challenges in the face of poverty, hunger, disaster and successive crises.
Capasso for his part said that Kuwait has always been at the center of attention of his Foundation which called since its inception for supporting dialogue between cultures as an essential element to ensure peace and prosperity.
