During a meeting in Barcelona, the leaders of the Italian and Spanish networks - Michele Capasso and Maria Angels Roque - announced a series of joint initiatives to promote, defend and support the role of women for dialogue and peace in the Euro-Mediterranean region.

President Capasso had a cordial meeting with Delphine Borione, deputy general secretary of the UfM. The various themes linked to the 42 Euro-Mediterranean countries belonging to the UPM have been analysed and, in particular, the role of women and young people in countering populism and authoritarianism, which constitute a food for violent extremism that is causing bloodshed in many countries.
President Capasso proposed to create a multimedia information space on the activities of the UPM and the ENI-CBC MED programme in special spaces of the Museum of Peace - MAMT in Naples.
Italian actors Massimo Dapporto and Maurizio Donadoni were treated to a preview visit of the EUROMEDCAFE.org in piazza Municipio in Naples, where they were welcomed by President Michele Capasso and Pia Molinari. They expressed their appreciation of the initiative aimed at promoting dialogue and peace thrhough hospitality, hosting events and offering products of the highest quality.
The Academy of the Mediterranean relaunches its action through the new seat established on 17 May at the Cadi Ayyad University in Marrakech.
At a meeting scheduled to take place in Marrakech in mid-May 2023, the "UNESCO Chair of High Mediterranean Studies", established by UNESCO, the Fondazione Mediterraneo and the Cadi Ayyad University of Marrakech in 1999 and suspended during the last few years due to the pandemic and the war, will be relaunched.
