It was attributed to the journalist Madeleine Rossi the Mediterranean Award  "Medal of Honor for information 2016".
The award was delivered during the ceremony of President  Michele Capasso and the president of the Senate Pietro Grasso, present the journalist Paolo Borrometi.
"A beautiful passage of witness-said Capasso - because both Pietro Grasso and Paolo Borrometi were both assignees of the" Mediterranean Award” in the Editions 2013 and 2014.

On the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of the "Mediterranean Prize" was held the ceremony of the award of the "Mediterranean Prize 2016 – Special Edition for the Education of Peace", attributed to the major rector of the Salesians, Don Ángel Fernández Artime, Grand Chancellor Of the UPS, in the presence of the President of the Senate Pietro Grasso.

Considered among the most significant internationally, the prize of the "Fondazione Mediterraneo" was awarded in previous editions to important personalities such as King Juan Carlos of Spain, King Hussein of Jordan, Presidents Anibal Cavao Silva and Abu Mazen, Leah Rabin, the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem FouadTwal, Cardinal Carlo Maria Martini, Cardinal Roger Etchegaray, and others.
In the motivations read by the president of the Fondazione Mediterraneo Prof. Michele Capasso-who with Pia Molinari delivered the prize-reads:

"For the activity in favour of peace and concord among the peoples of the world, carried out by the Salesian family, especially in the places where the war rages: Here the Salesians are often the only point of reference for men and women belonging to different faiths. The rector major Don Ángel Fernández Artime is a true ' peacemaker '; With his role as guide and master of the entire Salesian family-the Salesians, the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians and the cooperators-nourishes and spreads with humility and complicity the hope in the young people who have to confront life as ' hunters of the positive ' and Spreading the ' true ', the ' beautiful ' and the ' good ' as the foundation of civil, religious and social life. "

The major Rector expressed his gratitude on behalf of the whole Salesian family and Don Bosco for the prestigious recognition, considering it a "prize for the Future": even more imbued with the "Paul" for the Young, "Hunters of the positive".
The ceremony took place during the inauguration of the new academic year (2016-2017) of the Pontifical Salesian University (UPS), in the presence of a delegation of approximately 2000 students from 100 nations and ambassadors from various countries.
The prize awarded is the "Totem of Peace" by sculptor Mario Molinari.

Was assigned to the Magnificent Rector of the Pontifical Salesian University, Don Mauro Mantovani, the Mediterranean Prize "bearer of Peace" 2016 for the role taken by the entire Pontifical Salesian University for the education of young people to peace and Coexistence among different peoples, in the perspective – according to the expressions of Pope Paul VI – of the "new humanism" and of the "Civilization of Love".

On the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of the Mediterranean Prize, on 9 September 2016 - at the Museum of Peace - MAMT in Naples- the ceremony was held to award the "Mediterranean Institutions Award" and the title of "Ambassador of the United States of the World" to Elisabeth Guigou, president of the Foreigns Affairs Commission of the National Assembly of the French Republic and president of  the “Anna Lindh Foundation”.
For over 25 years committed to dialogue and peace in the Mediterranean and the world, the hon. Guigou has assumed prestigious roles and was also the first woman Minister of Justice with President Mitterrand in 1997. And it is still the first woman to be elected president of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the National Assembly, in 2012.
Collaborator of Jacques Delors at the Ministry of Finance in 1981, Elisabeth Guigou is called the following year to the Elysée to become adviser to the President of the Republic for Economic and European affairs. In 1984, he is a full-time adviser for the president's European issues, which he appoints as secretary General in 1986, head of the strategic administration which guarantees the coherence of the French positions in the negotiations in Brussels. This thorough knowledge of both the shores of the Mediterranean has allowed it to be appointed to the presidency of the "Fondazione Anna Lindh for the dialogue between cultures" in 2015, happening to the Moroccan André Azoulay.
For this dedication to Europe, the Mediterranean, justice and solidarity, the Scientific Council of the Mediterranean Foundation decided to give the "Mediterranean award institutions" 2016.
Diplomats from various countries, members of the Fondazione mediterraneo and representatives of the institutions attended the ceremony. Among these: the Ambassador of Morocco in Italy Hassan Abouyoub, the consul general of France Jean-Paul Seytre, the consul general of Spain Fernando Sanchez Rau, the president of the City Council of Naples Dott. Alessandro Fucito, the delegate of the magnificent rector Prof. Gilberto Sammartino, the director of communication of the FAL Paul Walton. The Hon. Guigou, moved, thanked President Capasso for this honour: "A precious and unique recognition for a life dedicated to Europe and the Mediterranean".
Ambassador Abouyoub has drawn the profile by defining it as "a balance between heart and emotion".

"Community psychology and homelessnes in Italy and Naples" and Fondazione Mediterraneo have awarded the prize for Social Solidarity to Jose Ornelas for the "Housing First Europe" program.

Jose Ornelas warmly thanked the Fondazione Mediterraneo for the attribution of the prize and has accurately described the principles of this initiative and the organizational model.
The network of international experts and scholars ECPA (European Community Psychology Association), the SCRA (Society for Community Research and Action) EFPA (European Federation of Psychologists Association), the FIO.psd (Italian Federation of Organizations for Persons without fixed residence) of Sipco, the RETLIS, (Association of  Rebirth Ethics and Transformation of Individual and Social Ties), the Community psychology lab of the University Federico II (www: Community psychology.eu), the Order of psychologists of the Campania Region have shared purpose of the prize awarded by the Mediterranean Foundation and took part in the promotion and dissemination of the event by posting numerous comments and congratulations to prof. José Ornelas.
Michele Capasso, president of Fondazione Mediterraneo delivered with Caterina Arcidiacono the award to Jose Ornelas expressing their rejoicing even for the new and fruitful start of the Foundation's headquarters activities that have in the use of new multimedia technologies and ultra powerful new tool action to enhance dimensions of dialogue and communication aimed at overcoming prejudices and conflicts between groups, cultures, religions and countries.
To end homelessnessè a vision and a mission in which the Fondazione Mediterraneo is associated with all social actors united in the Housing first project.
