At San Marino, during the third antimafia summit, presidents of Caponnetto Foundation, Salvatore Calleri, and Fondazione Mediterraneo, Michele Capasso, with Sen. Mario Giarrusso from Antimafia Parliamentar Commission of Italian republic, presented and illustrated the aims and activities of OMCOM (Mediterranean Observatory about organized criminality and mafie) to Internal Affairs and Justice State Secretary Giancarlo Venturini.

Took place in San Marino the 3° Antimafia Summit, with the participation –among others – of State Secretary Gian Carlo Venturini and Giuseppe Maria Morganti, Italian Ambassador in San Marino Republic Barbara Bregato, of Senator Mario Michele Giarrusso, Member of Antimafia Parliamentar Commission , Senator Lorenzo Diana, League of Legality, Salvatore Calleri, president of Caponnetto Foundation, Domenico Bilotta, Caponnetto Foundation National Responsible for School, Michele Capasso, president of Fondazione Mediterraneo. The last one, during his speech, not only dealt with the mafia problem, but also about foreign policy: “There are no more big statesmen as were in the past and this is the most important reason because there is brutality based on illegality.” Still, I’ll tell to youngs that this is the time to dare, to be peace makers. The challenge is everyone has the power of his life in his hands. San Marino’s role is important: you are a small Republic, talking about physical dimensions of your state, but for your History you are great.” From this point starting the relaunch of a project which could comport youth exchange all over the world, from needy areas from Italy, Europe and all over the world in order to bring their visible experience. San Marino’s history will be part of “MAMT – Mediterrean Museum of Arts, Music and Traditions” established by Fondazione Mediterraneo which will open by the end of the year.

The president of Fondazione Mediterraneo Michele Capasso delivered the Totem of peace and legality by the great sculptor Mario Molinari in the hands of State’s secretary Gian Carlo Venturini and Giuseppe Maria Morganti, at the presence of Italian Ambassador in San Marino Barbara Bregato.
“It represents– declared Capasso – the acknowledgment of the path done by San Marino in these years.
A symbolic challenge they are trying to win here. For the first time the Molinari’s Totem of Peace – which started its way some years ago – represents both peace and legality. It is a very strong symbol which after Ban-Ki Moon goes to the Repubblic of Titano”. For now it has been given a Totem miniature and the real one will be placed in the next few months on the Titano, after the individuation to the best spot for its collocation.

Antonino Caponnetto Foundation joins to “RIDEItalian Network for Euro Mediterranean Dialogue”.
“It is an important moment- highlighted the president Salvatore Càlleri – because the legality is at the fundaments of civil coabitation in a multi etnich world and for this, alla base della coesistenza civile in un mondo multietnico e, per questo, costituisce la condizione preliminare per la costruzione duratura del dialogo e della pace.
We are pleased that Foreign Affairs Ministry Emma Bonino expressed his own congratulations for RIDE’s establishment and hoped that most important organs and institutions workinf in Italy could join to this initiative co established by Foreign Affairs Ministry: Caponnetto Foundation intended to accuel this invitation”.

The president of Palestine, Abu Mazen, during a meeting with Francis Pope in Vatican, expressed his desire to sign a peace agreement with Israel. During the consultation the Palestinian leader invited the Pope to visit Holy Land, and a similar invitation was made before also by Israeli president Shimon Peres. Abu Mazen choose Rome as first step of an European travel which will lead him to Germany and Bruxelles, in order to made aware Europe about Palestinian issue. The topic of peace negotiations with Israel was one of the central points of the meeting with Francis Pope, who hopes in a agreement as soon as possible. He did it in his own way, when he donated to Palestinian Authority a fountain pen, which reproduces the column of the canopy of San Peter’s Altar, artwork of Gianlorenzo Bernini: For sure you have to sign so many papers…”, he joked. And Abu Mazen understood his allusion: “ I hope to sign with this pen the peace agreement with Israel”. “Soon, soon!”, pushed the Argentinian Pope. In a following statement, Vatican let known that Pope asks to Israeli government and to the Palestinian one: “to take with determination and under the support of international community brave decisions in favour of peace”. Francis Pope expressed his “faith that the peace process helds to the aimed fruits in order to find a right and long lasting solution to a conflict which ends reveals to be every day, more needed and urgent”. After the new invitation the visit of Francis Pope in Holy Land seems to be closer. Holy See didn’t officially announced the visit but it can be supposed it will take place between march and april of 2014. In the afternoon, president of Anp at Quirinale met Giorgio Napolitano to whom consigned “Palestinian Star”, the most important award of the Territories. The peace process had a significant moment few months ago, when President Abu Mazen visited Fondazione Mediterraneo, which recognized his role in the pacification process.
