The end of the nineteenth century brought with it profound changes to the city’s town planning. The government began action to renovate the most deprived areas of Naples and to construct the sea-front from scratch. This exciting atmosphere of urban renewal also attracted a Belgian financier named Oscar du Mesnil, who was in Naples with his wife. He was so fascinated by the city that he decided to construct a hotel on the new sea-front to do justice to the beauty of the site. “Grand Hotel du Vesuve” was duly constructed in 1882.
On 11th June 2018 the panoramic terrace opens: a magic on the Gulf of Naples.
The Fondazione Mediterraneo, which has hosted to  "Vesuvio" personalities from various countries of the world during the last 30 years, took part in the event.

As a part of the events for the exhibition "CIVILIZING THE URBAN", the international conference on the theme « Hyplane, the solution made in Naples for the Spatial Tourism » took place at the Museum of Peace - MAMT.

A few hours after the concert at the San Paolo "PINO E'", friends, fans and students have visited the "PINO DANIELE ALIVE" section of the Museum of Peace - MAMT plunging into a sea of emotions.
Among the many, Coco Bucci, a music producer who came from Chicago who is moved reminding the fraternal friend Pino: he takes his leave by thanking President Capasso and the Fondazione Mediterraneo for having wanted to ensure "the continuity of having Pino always with us".

The architect Luca Zevi visited the Museum of Peace - MAMT and the "Civilizzare l'Urbano" exhibition on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Pica Ciamarra Associati studio.
Welcomed by the architects Michele Capasso and Massimo Pica Ciamarra expressed satisfaction and admiration for the Museum and for the Exhibition that covers over half a century of activity of prof. Massimo Pica Camarra
