President Michele Capasso spoke at the ceremony to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the ”Associazione Nazionale Carabinieri”. Mayors from different cities attended the ceremony including Assisi, Perugia, Torre del Greco, Ercolano, Massa di Somma, San Sebastiano al Vesuvio and gave their support to “Totem for Pace” project. The President of the San Sebastiano al Vesuvio Section of the Association, Giuseppe Imperato, was given honorary citizenship for having promoted his Vesuvian town in more than 20 years of activities |

The President of the Fondazione Mediterraneo Michele Capasso and Pia Molinari, board member and director of the “young people and creativity” sector, spoke at the Congress on the “Future of the Arab Springs”. After having recalled the common experiences in various war scenarios together with “Sole 24 Ore” journalist Alberto Negri, President Capasso emphasized the importance of young people in reaffirming the system of values and shared interests in society, the fundamental principles of which are based on coexistence and alliance between the Arab-Islamic world and the West. |

The President of the Fondazione Michele Capasso and board member Pia Molinari spoke at the inauguration ceremony for the Centro Congressi d’Oltremare (Overseas Congress Centre). After being welcomed by President Morra, they spoke of the “Euromed Civil Forum”, organised by the Fondazione in 1997 with 3000 participants from 36 countries, which had paved the way to the creation of this important congress facility. |

A Protocol of Understanding was signed between the Fondazione Mediterraneo and the City of Pietrelcina for the international relaunch of religious matters. Among the activities, the awarding of the “Mediterranean Award for Interreligious Dialogue” is foreseen, as well as the “Totem for Peace” and other initiatives including those for young people and peace. The President of the Fondazione Mediterraneo, Michele Capasso, attended the ceremony with fellow directors Pia Molinari and Roberto Caselli; Carmine Nardone of the International Committee was also present. The Mayor of Pietrelcina, Domenico Masone, accompanied by a delegation of town councilors, expressed his personal appreciation for the protocol guaranteeing his full support for the concrete initiatives implemented by the city. A ceremony was held to commemorate the fourth anniversary of the death Rita Alamprese, the co-founder of the Fondazione Mediterraneo. After the ceremony in the Church of Saint Pius, a Holy Mass was held in memory of Rita Allamprese. Father Marciano Guarino, custodian of the Convent of the Capuchine Friars of Pietrelcina conducted the mass. The relics of the Saint are held in the Church. |
