TOTEM FOR PEACE

The "Totem for Peace" is a trademark duly filed in accordance with the regulations. Therefore, any initiatives undertaken by third parties using that trademark or the word "Totem for Peace" in any context and for whatever purpose, it integrates to all intents and purposes the case of trademark infringement.

The "Totem of Peace", the work of the Turin sculptor Mario Molinari, is the symbol of the "United States of the World" and represents the Peace: it was chosen in 1997 by 3,000 representatives of 181 countries and since then the "United States of the World" with the "Fondazione Mediterraneo" are spreading this universal symbol by setting up the network of "Cities for Peace".
The sculptor Mario Molinari was an artist of clear fame, sensitive to the themes of peace and dialogue between cultures, as evidenced by his numerous works and his life.
The cultural project of the "Totem of Peace" is carried out in the world by Michele Capasso: dedicated, since 1987, to the construction of dialogue as a tool for the mediation of conflicts, he combines his international experience of social and intercultural planning and planning with the professional one of architect and engineer.
Many countries have created the monumental work symbolising peace and coexistence between different peoples. Among the main ones are:

   

The sail that symbolizes the journey, the sea. This “Mare Nostrum” of ​​Ours which was the cradle of civilization, the scene of clashes and battles between the people who inhabited it but also and above all of the exchange of goods and knowledge. A sea celebrated in myth where Ulysses got lost, continuing to wander in his desperate search for his way back. The sail that turns red, at dawn and dusk, at departure and return in the immutable rhythm of the Universe .

Accompanied by the director Sister Bernarda Santamaria Merens, the Sisters of the General House of FMA visited the Museum of Peace - MAMT and, in particular, the emotional sections dedicated to Don Bosco and Mother Mazzarello.
Welcomed by President Michele Capasso, the religious gathered around the Totem for Peace by the sculptor Mario Molinari, expressing appreciation for the work and for the Turin House-Museum.

Welcomed by Pia Molinari and Michele Capasso, the Minister for Cultural Heritage and Tourism Dario Franceschini visited the emotional section dedicated to the work of Mario Molinari, a sculptor of color.
Franceschini has focused in particular on the "Casa-museo" of Turin and on the "Totem of Peace" expressing appreciation for the monumental work carried out in the Port of Naples that contains the urn with the relics of the Unknown Migrant.
At the end of the visit the Minister received from Pia Molinari the monograph of the "Sculptor of Color".

The TOTEM OF PEACE by sculptor Molinari - which the Fondazione Mediterraneo has been spreading throughout the world for over 10 years - becomes the symbol of the "WORLD PEACE FORUM": a world meeting on the theme of conflict management and peace that will take place in Naples every year, starting from 2019.
A further recognition, in view of the thirty-year anniversary, of the commitment of the Fondazione Mediterraneo for the PEACE.

On the occasion of the Celebration of San Giovanni Bosco, took place, at the oratory of the Santa Maria Mazzarello Institute in Torre Annunziata, the inauguration of the work "Totem della Pace" by the Molinari sculptor. After the greetings of the director of the institute Suor Marianna,of the southern vice-director SuorCarlaandof the person in charge of the oratory Sister Angela, have participated the president of the Fondazione Mediterraneo Michele Capasso, the person in charge of the "Totem della Pace" project Pia Molinari, the mayor of Torre Annuziata Enzo Ascione and the priests Don Franco and Don Mario. In particular, President Capasso underlined the importance of the "Hands of Peace" reproduced by the boys and girls of the Oratory: a COMMITMENT to be builders of peace that since childhood must involve children so that they grow up with a totality of values ​​capable of countering the adversities and the evil of life.
