MAIN EVENTS 2008-2022

The Foundation joined the event organised by the municipal administration. Departure from Via Falconi: first stop, Paolino's stele. There, the lawyer Alfredo Avella, Paolino's father, introduced the ceremony where the names of the innocent victims of crime were read out. Pages full of names read by students from the Salvemini IC and the Di Giacomo high school; by Mayor Giuseppe Panico and Deputy Mayor Assia Filosa Rossi; by teachers, representatives of public forces and ordinary citizens.
The morning continued at the municipal house for a moment of remembrance and reflection around the "Totem for Peace" by sculptor Molinari, symbol of the United States of the World. Various guests took the floor, including parliamentarian Francesco Emilio Borrelli, prosecutor Gialanella, and parish priest Don Enzo Cozzolino.
At the end of the day, the students read a memory of Paolino taken from the book "Paolino Avella - the spider" by journalist Luciana Esposito. A greeting from Santo Romano's family brought the proceedings to a close.
The Fondazione Mediterraneo ideally united the event in San Sebastiano al Vesuvio with the national one in Trapani, where Don Luigi Ciotti's message lives on: ‘Meeting the families of mafia victims is a social responsibility’.
The XXXth "Day of Remembrance and Commitment in Remembrance of Victims of the Mafia" in Trapani was marked by a message from President Michele Capasso, read out by members of the Foundation present in Sicily.
