This year, the annual event entitled "SOUND LIGHT & FICTION: The Senses in Medicine" celebrated its fourth edition, keeping faith with its special multidisciplinary approach. The focus of the conference was the ‘Update Course in Endocrinological and Gynaecological Andrology’, held on 2 and 3 July 2024 at the University of Naples ‘Parthenope’, in the splendid setting of Villa Doria D'Angri at Posillipo.
Scientific leaders Carlo Alviggi, Fabio Perricone and Rosario Pivonello addressed the topics of prevention and treatment of reproductive, sexual, endocrine and neuroendocrine pathologies, with a focus on pregnancy and a focus on nutraceuticals. The course is part of Continuing Education (CME) and was aimed at gynaecologists, andrologists, urologists and specialists in related disciplines.
The event concluded with the awarding of the ‘Mediterranean Prize for Research and Science’ to Carlo Foresta, andrologist, endocrinologist and infertility researcher, former professor of endocrinology at the School of Medicine of Padua and member of the Consiglio Superiore della Sanità. The award was presented by Michele Capasso, Secretary-General of the United States of the World. This award is given to political, cultural and artistic personalities who have contributed to reducing tensions and enhancing cultural differences and shared values.
