Totem for Peace
The "Totem for Peace" is a trademark duly filed in accordance with the regulations. Therefore, any initiatives undertaken by third parties using that trademark or the word "Totem for Peace" in any context and for whatever purpose, it integrates to all intents and purposes the case of trademark infringement.
The "Totem of Peace", the work of the Turin sculptor Mario Molinari, is the symbol of the "United States of the World" and represents the Peace: it was chosen in 1997 by 3,000 representatives of 181 countries and since then the "United States of the World" with the "Fondazione Mediterraneo" are spreading this universal symbol by setting up the network of "Cities for Peace".
The sculptor Mario Molinari was an artist of clear fame, sensitive to the themes of peace and dialogue between cultures, as evidenced by his numerous works and his life.
The cultural project of the "Totem of Peace" is carried out in the world by Michele Capasso: dedicated, since 1987, to the construction of dialogue as a tool for the mediation of conflicts, he combines his international experience of social and intercultural planning and planning with the professional one of architect and engineer.
Many countries have created the monumental work symbolising peace and coexistence between different peoples. Among the main ones are:
The sail that symbolizes the journey, the sea. This “Mare Nostrum” of Ours which was the cradle of civilization, the scene of clashes and battles between the people who inhabited it but also and above all of the exchange of goods and knowledge. A sea celebrated in myth where Ulysses got lost, continuing to wander in his desperate search for his way back. The sail that turns red, at dawn and dusk, at departure and return in the immutable rhythm of the Universe .

On 29th September was held at Pescasseroli the ceremony to awardthe titles of "Peacekeepers" to all municipal employees, to all municipal councilors and to the citizens who have contributed to the realization of the Totem for Peace at Pescasseroli.

Breeders from the Southern Regions of Italy protested in front of the Totem for Peace by Molinari during its inauguration at Pescasseroli.
Thanks to the action of President Michele Capasso, the breeders were named "Peacekeepers", so they could stop their protest thanking the Fondazione Mediterraneo for the opportunity received.

On the 29th of September 2010 at 12.00 at the Rotonda Santa Lucia in Pescasseroli the Totem for Peace, the work by the sculptor Mario Molinari that the Fondazione Mediterraneo is spreading all over the world establishing the “Cities for Peace” network, was unveiled.
The monumental work was inaugurated in the heart of the National Park of Abruzzo, Lazio e Molise, at the presence of delegates from European Countries participating at Europarc 2010.
The Totem in Pescasseroli was the last monumental work realized in the National Parks of Cilento, Vesuvio and Abruzzo Lazio and Molise.

The Fondazione Mediterraneo, in cooperation with the United Nations, the Mediterranean Parliamentary Assembly, the European Union, the “Anna Lindh” Foundation, the World Organization for Migrations and more international bodies is building in 200 towns of 165 countries of the World the “Totem for Peace” by the sculptor Mario Molinari. The cities implementing this initiative are part of the network “CITIES FOR PEACE IN THE WORLD”.

A citizen delegation from the Cilento area and S. Maria di Castellabate partecipated in the unveiling of the Totem for Peace in San Sebastiano al Vesuvio.
The group, led by the President of the Leucosia Association, Giovanni Farace, attended the "symbolic handover” of the Totem for Peace from the President of the Cilento Park Amilcare Troiano and the mayor of Rutino Michele Voria to the President of the Vesuvio Park Ugo Leone and the mayor of San Sebastiano al Vesuvio Giuseppe Capasso, and, by then, to the mayor of Pescasseroli Nunzio Finamore, where the work will be unveiled on the 29th of September 2010.
