Totem for Peace

The "Totem for Peace" is a trademark duly filed in accordance with the regulations. Therefore, any initiatives undertaken by third parties using that trademark or the word "Totem for Peace" in any context and for whatever purpose, it integrates to all intents and purposes the case of trademark infringement.

The "Totem of Peace", the work of the Turin sculptor Mario Molinari, is the symbol of the "United States of the World" and represents the Peace: it was chosen in 1997 by 3,000 representatives of 181 countries and since then the "United States of the World" with the "Fondazione Mediterraneo" are spreading this universal symbol by setting up the network of "Cities for Peace".
The sculptor Mario Molinari was an artist of clear fame, sensitive to the themes of peace and dialogue between cultures, as evidenced by his numerous works and his life.
The cultural project of the "Totem of Peace" is carried out in the world by Michele Capasso: dedicated, since 1987, to the construction of dialogue as a tool for the mediation of conflicts, he combines his international experience of social and intercultural planning and planning with the professional one of architect and engineer.
Many countries have created the monumental work symbolising peace and coexistence between different peoples. Among the main ones are:

   

The sail that symbolizes the journey, the sea. This “Mare Nostrum” of ​​Ours which was the cradle of civilization, the scene of clashes and battles between the people who inhabited it but also and above all of the exchange of goods and knowledge. A sea celebrated in myth where Ulysses got lost, continuing to wander in his desperate search for his way back. The sail that turns red, at dawn and dusk, at departure and return in the immutable rhythm of the Universe .

The President of the Fondazione Mediterraneo Michele Capasso, was recieved by the first Lady of Niger, Assafa Issoufou Mahamadou, during his visit to Azerbaijan.
At the meeting, a copy of the “Tricolour Totem for Peace” by the sculptor Mario Molinari, created for the 150th anniversary of the Unification of Italy, was presented to the Republic of Niger and President Issoufou Mahamadou.
On that occasion, the possibility of erecting the monumental sculpture in Niger was discussed, to further strengthen ties between the two countries.

The President of the Fondazione Mediterraneo Michele Capasso met with Sham Bathija, Minister of Economy and Advisor to the President of Afghanistan.
During the meeting, after studying the problems linked to the process of developing the autonomy and democratization of the country, it was agreed that the monumental Totem for Peace sculpture should be erected in Afghanistan in memory of the victims who dedicated their lives to peace.

The President of the Fondazione Mediterraneo Michele Capasso met with Nadia M. Hashem, the Minister of State for Women's Affairs in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
At the meeting, after recalling the long-standing ties between the Fondazione Mediterraneo and Jordan and role of the representative office in Amman – devoted to young people and creativity – it was agreed that the monumental sculpture by Mario Molinari would be erected in Jordan and dedicated to women for their role in peace-making. 
On that occasion, President Capasso gave a copy of the Tricolour Totem for Peace, created for the 150th anniversary of the Unification of Italy to Minister Hashem.

The President of the Fondazione Mediterraneo Michele Capasso met with Ambassador Mohamedou Ould Mohamed Mahmoud, President of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Mauritania.
On that occasion, President Capasso presented his project for the “Arab Maghreb House” in Naples, which obtained unanimous consent.
Ambasador Mohamedou Ould Mohamed Mahmoud expressed his support for the creation of the Totem for Peace by Molinari in Mauritania.

The President of the Fondazione Mediterraneo Michele Capasso met with Abdelaziz Othman Altwaijri, Director General of ISESCO - Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, which has its seat in Rabat and with which the Fondazione signed a Protocol of Understanding for the promotion of culture in Islamic countries.
On that occasion, the Director General, Altwaijri expressed his appreciation for the activities of the Fondazione by giving his support to the Totem for Peace and acknowledging it as ISESCO’s symbol for culture and science.
The Moroccan Minister for Solidarity, Women, the Family and Social Development Bassima Hakkaoui, also attended the meeting.
