The MAMT- Mediterranean Museum of Art, Music and Traditions is an institution created by the Fondazione Mediterraneo with the aim “to experience” in an interactive way, the positive emotions of Our Sea through Arts, Music and Traditions. The MAMT is one of the most important initiatives of Fondazione Mediterraneo: an active space created in order to let communicate Arts, Music and Traditions of the Mediterranean contemporary society. The awareness of a past full of ancient traditions is the base for the construction of a rational and connected humanity: the vastness of the Mediterranean area collects together the responsibility, the hard work and intelligence with the ability to share spaces and cultures. Today, more than ever, the sense of future is given by the awareness of the sorrow, of the conflicts and at the same time by the ability to share joys and bond.
Art and Music are since ever the tool of communication and sharing of the humanity that, in a particular “Mediterranean” path, allows us to overtake the violence of the human being that showed itself in his greater brutality in countries as Bosnia, Palestine, Syria and other places: as testify of this there are Bosnia, in order not to forget and Suffering and Hope in the world, exhibitions of the museum.

At the same time there are symbols inviting to meeting and hope appear in lands of desolation and Hush: The Ferrigno Nativity Scene, the exhibition a Sea, three Faiths, the Peace and the Last Neapolitan Supper are part of the Museum.
Near the Totem of Peace and other works by Mario Molinari, sculptor of the color, accompanies the lonely journey of freedom, the Dreamlike World of John Crown and the desire of participation and recognition of the role of women in the Mediterranean in the exhibition “Breaking the Veils, women artists of Islamic World”.
Fado, Flamenco, Tango and Sirtaki, the Song of Naples, the Great Lyric Operas, Arabic Music and the Classics of all the times catch the attention of the audience with the acoustic perfection of the “Music hall” of the Museum.
The section dedicated to Pino Daniele has a particular meaning.
The warm of the Mediterranean human nature and the awareness of the necessity to keep track, the the wealth and the fertility find in the “Section Architecture” – with the Associated presences of Alvaro Siza, Ciamarra Picas, Vittorio Di Pace, Nicola Pagliara, Marco Introini and others - and in the Voices of the Migrants and other strong point.
The artworks of Pietro and Rino Volpe mark Mediterranean signs in which the culture and the literature merge with the creativity making a unique collection.
A collection of HD video about the most important sites of the Campania Region will accompany the tourists of cruises and the visitors in the whole building: the ground floor facing on Municipio Square will host an info-point unique in its kind. The MAMT is also an articulated system of services in the heart of the city of Naples: the library, the emeroteque, the music hall, salt conventions, the restaurants, the Euromedcafé, the residences and the bookshop receive the visitor with sympathy and enthusiasm: that enthusiasm of the Mediterranean!

A unique and unrepeatable experience through 20 emotional paths: among them the Mosque, the Chapel with the relics of Don Bosco, Mother Mazzarello and Padre Pio, the spaces dedicated to Pino Daniele and the sculptor Mario Molinari, the path dedicated to "La Campania of emotions"...
On June 29, 2018, in Naples, the MUSEUM OF PEACE - MAMT (Mediterranean, Art, Architecture, Archeology, Environment, Music, Migrations, Traditions, Tourism), celebrates the second year of activity: ten thousand visitors from 140 countries of the world fascinated from a space created by the MEDITERRANEAN FOUNDATION, for almost 30 years committed to dialogue and peace in the Mediterranean and the world.
The Museum - located in the historic building of the former "Grand Hotel de Londres" in Piazza Municipio, in the heart of Naples, a few steps from the metro station designed by Alvaro Siza and the cruise port - is a "home" to welcome and excite: in the 5 floors we are told what has united and unites the peoples of the Mediterranean and the World: Music, Science, Art, Creativity, Craftsmanship, Solidarity, Traditions, Costumes, Food, Destiny
Here you can immerse yourself in the 20 emotional journeys dedicated to important topics such as Migration, Interreligious Dialogue, Music, Stories of Peace, Legality and then the World Salesian Oratory, Ancient Egypt, the Cribs, the City of dialogue: all guided by over 5.000 high-definition videos (4k) and objects, artifacts and testimonies unique in the world that have helped define the Museum "emotional heritage of humanity" and give it the title of "Museum of Emotions".
Through a unique system in the world, located on the 5 floors of the building, and with the help of 107 large videowalls you can immerse yourself in thousands of videos with music by Pino Daniele: the "PINO DANIELE" section is dedicated to the great "musician ALIVE".
The success of this initiative is testified not only by the numbers but by the testimonies of most of the visitors, excited and involved in a welcoming home that the greatest communicators of the world have called "Chaos and wonder".
The project of the Peace Museum was founded in 1997, when President Michele Capasso appealed to over 2,000 representatives from 36 countries on the need to give peace a space where to tell a different story from what is proposed daily by the media (terrorism, migrants) that they die, corruption, poverty, wars, etc.): in short, the HISTORY OF BEAUTY, TRUE AND GOOD to give back hope to young people and make them once again POSITIVE HUNTERS and FUTURE MANUFACTURERS.

A delegation from Sicily, led by Senator Giuseppe Lumia and composed by proff. Antonio Perino and Giuseppe Valenti visited the headquarters of the “Fondazione Mediterraneo” and the “Museum of PeaceMAMT”.
During the meeting, possible collaborations on the issues of the United States of Europe and the health of women in different Mediterranean cultures were examined.
Guests expressed appreciation for the Museum and for the thirty-year activity of the Foundation and of the Maison des Alliances where they were hosted.

The Museum of Peace - MAMT has opened its doors for the WORLD REFUGEE DAY through the emotional paths "VOCI DEI MIGRANTI".
On 20 June each year the World Refugee Day is celebrated all over the world, an annual event organized by the UN General Assembly, which aims to raise awareness among the public about the condition of millions of refugees and asylum seekers who, forced to flee from wars and violence, leave their loved ones, their homes and all that once was part of their lives. And above all, invite you to never forget that behind each of them there is a story that deserves to be heard. Stories of suffering, of humiliations but also of those who managed to rebuild their own future, bringing their own contribution to the society that welcomed it.
To pursue this goal, the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) continues the #WithRefugees campaign, which aims to give visibility to expressions of solidarity towards refugees, amplifying the voice of those who welcome and strengthening the meeting between local communities and refugees and asylum seekers.
#WithRefugees is also a petition, with which UNHCR asks governments to ensure that every refugee child has an education, that every refugee family has a safe place to live, that every refugee can work or acquire new skills to give his contribution to the community. The true petition presented to the UN Assembly by the end of 2018 on the occasion of the adoption of the Global Compact for refugees.

Among the events of celebration of World Refugee Day, which will culminate on Wednesday 20 June, but will continue until the end of the month, the meetings and emotional trails of the Museum of Peace - MAMT that have attracted hundreds of visitors and sensitized young people on this topic that "will affect our future if not solved with the values ​​of humanity, acceptance and coexistence. Today, being on the side of refugees is not only an act of humanity, it is above all also an act of courage", said President Michele Capasso.

The president of the ALIS - Logistic Association of Sustainable Intermodality - Guido Grimaldi visited the Museum of Peace - MAMT.
Accompanied by President Michele Capasso Grimaldi expressed appreciation for the initiative and proposed possible collaborations between the Fondazione Mediterraneo and ALIS.
President Capasso accepted the invitation to speak at a meeting of the main ALIS members in Rome on 22 June 2018 to illustrate some possible joint initiatives.
