Women Actress of Dialogue

The Joint Action KĪMIYYA: Women Actress of Dialogue”, conceived and organized by the Fondazione Mediterraneo and 12 Anna Lindh Foundation National Networks adhere to it: Albania, Algeria, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Spain, France, Italy, Malta, Mauretania, Czech Republic, Lithuania, Slovenia and Tunisia.
The action aims to gather and deepen the work done so far by formulating concrete recommendations and operational guidelines
Women are the main “promoters” of connections between civil societies: by supporting their training, education and access to new tools and modern digital technologies, it will be possible to facilitate the intercultural dialogue in the Euro-Med region, reduce migration and address the causes of conflict.
The name KĪMIYYA has been chosen because in the ancient languages of Mediterranean culture (Aramaic, Arab, Greek and other languages), it means “to embrace”, “melt”, “put together”, “meet”, “share” and “mix”.

 

The University of Salerno adheres to the "Kimiyya" program of the Mediterranean Foundation in defense of women's rights.
Upon delegation by the Rector prof. Aurelio Tommasetti the prof. Maddalena Della Volpe signed the manifesto of "Kimiyya" at the Fondazione Mediterraneo.

The Secretary General of Campania of UIL TEMP Denise Carbone, the president of the Italian Union of immigrants in Campania Luciana del Fico, the delegates Enza Preziosi, Maria Rosaria Cuocolo, Assunta Langella and others have signed the "KIMIYYA" Manifesto as a sign of solidarity with women all over the world in defense of gender rights and equality.

The Fondazione Mediterraneo has hosted the "EVS TRAINSERS FORUM" in the Museum of Peace - MAMT: a high-level meeting between the trainers of the "European Civil Service" (Erasmus +) organized by the National Agency for Youth.
Welcomed by President Michele Capasso, the director of the Museum Pia Molinari and the Director General of the National Agency for Young People dr. Giacomo D'Arrigo the delegates of over 35 Mediterranean Euro countries were distributed in the various floors and in the various rooms of the Museum using high technology and multimedia systems to better finalize the training activities.
On this occasion they visited the Museum and signed the Kimiyya Manifesto.

The members of the Italian parliament Stefania Covello and Assunta Tartaglione, during the visit to the Fondazione Mediterraneo and to the "Documentation Center of the Anna Lindh Foundation", expressed appreciation for the activity carried out, in particular for the interventions of "Kimiyya" by signing the manifesto produced by the participants in September 2017 in defense of women's rights.

The Minister for Cultural Heritage and Tourism Dario Franceschini, during the visit to the Fondazione Mediterraneo and to the "Documentation Center of the Anna Lindh Foundation", expressed appreciation for the activity carried out, in particular for the interventions of "Kimiyya" by signing the manifesto produced by the participants in September 2017 in defense of women's rights.

The Fondazione Mediterraneo participated in the Gender Violence Training Course seminars organised by the SSP High Education School.
The defence of women's rights against gender-based violence is one of the main actions that the Foundation has been promoting for 30 years with various actions and, in particular, with the "KIMIYYA" programme.

The president of the Fondazione Mediterraneo Michele Capasso and Pia Molinari met the Councilor for Youth Alessandra Clemente at Palazzo San Giacomo.
On this occasion the next joint programs with the Foundation were discussed and a copy of the "Kimiyya" bags made by Syrian women who had children murdered by the civil war was handed over to the Councilor.
The Councilor has signed the manifesto of "Kimiyya. The Women actresses of the Dialogue” signed by women from 82 countries involved in the various sectors.

The President of the Anna Lindh Foundation, Elisabeth Guigou, during a meeting with President Michele Capasso and Prof. Caterina Arcidiacono, expressed her appreciation for the results of the joint action "Kimiyya", which was also considered by the ONU as one of the main initiatives in favour of women.
President Capasso confirmed the programme for the second edition (2018) dedicated to "Women and Migrants", which will involve more than 70 countries.
On this occasion, one of the bags made for "Kimiyya" by Syrian women who had children killed in the conflict was handed over to President Guigou.

During a cordial meeting with the Prefect of Naples Carmela Pagano, the President of the Fondazione Mediterraneo Michele Capasso illustrated the project "Kimiyya" in favor of legality and women and handed over one of the bags made by Syrian women who had children or husbands killed in the recent conflict.
The Prefect expressed his appreciation for the initiative and said that he would take care of explaining to the Minister of the Interior its importance and international importance.
