Federation Anna Lindh Italia || Onlus

 

The Federazione Anna Lindh Italia, not-for-profit, shares the aims of the Anna Lindh Foundation: created in 2004 by the European Commission together with the 42 Euro-Mediterranean countries.
The Federation's objective is to promote, support and implement the cultural and social interaction between Italy and the Euro-Mediterranean countries in various fields of action including: art, architecture, archaeology, environment, crafts, youth, women, human rights, migrants, crafts, employment, training, education, education, childhood, sports, interreligious dialogue, legality, music, food culture, empowerment, tradition, tourism, social solidarity, exchanges.
In particular, the Federation intends to implement initiatives in favour of young people, especially aimed at restoring their hope and confidence through the promotion of the "true",the "beautiful" and the "good”

At the conclusion of the founding members Assembly of the "Federazione Anna Lindh Italia", Emma Bonino was unanimously proclaimed the honorary president of the "Federation" which brings together more than a thousand Italian organizations that promote dialogue and peace through concrete initiatives.
The nomination was presented to Senator Bonino by the proff. Massimo Pica Ciamarra and Maurizio Iaccarino, members of the executive committee.

The event presenting the Anna Lindh Report 2018 on the theme Intercultural tendencies and social change in the Euro-Mediterranean region took place in the Sala Zuccari of the Senate of the Republic.
This event was held on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the presentation of the "Report of the High level group " by President Prodi, at the base of the birth of the Anna Lindh Foundation.
The Fondazione Mediterraneo  collaborated in that relationship with 5 of its members and with a special edition of Report.

The "Federazione Anna Lindh Italia Onlus" presented to the Senate the program of initiatives to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the birth of the Italian Network of the Anna Lindh Foundation(ALF)  of which the "Federation" represents the majority of the members and, among them, almost all the founders of the Network in 2004.

MED 2018 is the 4rd edition of the annual high–level initiative, co–organized by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Italian Institute for International Political Studies (ISPI). This event is intended to turn Rome into a global hub for high–level dialogues on the broader Mediterranean, with a view to re–thinking traditional approaches and drafting a new "positive agenda".
The president of the Fondazione Mediterraneo Michele Capasso underlined the importance of the meetings and the role that the Foundation has had since 1989 when "little was said about the Mediterranean".
In particular, he recalled the importance of the "Euromed Civil Forum" and, in particular, that of Naples, which is celebrated in just a few days. On that occasion, 3,000 participants from 36 countries emphasized the importance of dialogue and coexistence as fundamental pillars for cooperation and peace.

At the moment when tensions between Israel and Palestine are rising, at the headquarters of the Fondazione Mediterraneo and the Peace Museum, a representation of poets coming from Israel - Nurit Cederbonn, Sara Aronovitch Karpanos, Rahven Shabbat, Michal Doron, Hain Sefti, Tal Bello and Balfour Makak - at the request of President Michele Capasso and director Pia Molinari make up a common poem entitled "The spirit of peace".
An exciting moment that is renewed in front of Molinari's Totem for Peace when poets read with emotion the poetry composed in English and Hebrew.
At the end, books with their poems were dedicated to the Foundation.
