President Michele Capasso participated in the ceremonies for the National Day of the French Republic expressing the proximity of the Fondazione Mediterraneo to the General Consul  Jean-Paul Seytre.
On this occasion he performed the group "Guappecartò" that will soon be at the Museum of Peace - MAMT.

In the 21nd anniversary of the Srebrenica massacre, thousands of people gathered in the Potocari memorial cemetery, near Srebrenica, to pay homage to the 8,372 victims of the genocide committed in 1995 by the Bosnian Serbs of Ratko Mladic, and to participate at the funeral of another 127 victims identified in the last year. 5,000 participants in the March of Peace arrived in Potocari. Of the 127 victims buried this year alongside the 6,504 existing graves, there are also sminors.
The Fondazione Mediterraneo, founded precisely to help these innocent victims, appeals to the world to prevent genocide of this kind from occurring again.

Il presidente Michele Capasso, i responsabili delle sedi distaccate ed i membri del Comitato Scientifico Internazionale della Fondazione Mediterraneo esprimono la propria solidarietà e vicinanza ai familiari dell'ennesimo atto terroristico di Dacca, in modo particolare alle famiglie dei 9 connazionali che hanno perso la vita per mano di fondamentalisti che strumentalizzano la religione per ideologie folli che nulla hanno a che fare con i valori dell'Amore e dell'Umano rispetto.
Occorre reagire riaffermando i concetti del Bello, del Vero e del Buono che ancora vivono in ognuno di noi.

The award cerimony of the IX edition of the “Mare Nostrum Award 2016” took place in Rome.
Created by “Grimaldi Magazine” Mare Nostrum Awards is devoted to promoting the Highways of the Sea. The aim is to exploit this unique opportunity of tradings, links and sustainable development for all countries of the Mediterranean. The Mare Nostrum Awards prize amounts, as every year, to EUR 50,000 divided among the top five.
The International Jury of the Award consists of prominent members of journalism and culture.
The President Folco Quilici is supported, among the others, by Vassiliki Armogeni,greek journalist of te magazine Efoplistis, Michele Capasso, President of the Fondazione Mediterraneo, Diana De Feo, RAI journalist, Mimmo Jodice, photographer, Paul Kyprianou, former President RoRo Carriers Europeans. Secretary of the Prize is Luciano Bosso, journalist and editor of Grimaldi Magazine Mare Nostrum.
