The first public meeting of Pope Francis' apostolic journey to Egypt was in the Islamic University of Al-Azhar, where he spoke at the international peace conference and embraced the rector, the Great Imam Al-Tayeb.
This trip - said President Michele Capasso - is of extraordinary importance and Pope Francis is a "giant of dialogue and peace".
