TEN YEARS OF THE TOTEM OF PEACE CELEBRATED IN RUTINO

The tenth anniversary of the construction of the monumental work "TOTEM OF PEACE" in Rutino was celebrated with a webinar ceremony in Naples, Marrakech and Rutino.
On 7 August 2010 the president of the Fondazione Mediterraneo Michele Capasso, the late mayor of Rutino Michele Voria and Mrs Pia Molinari inaugurated the monumental work "Totem of Peace" by the sculptor Mario Molinari.
The work, 16 meters high and immovable, was built next to the church by choice of the then Bishop Monsignor Favale and built with the contribution of the whole town. It was the first work in the world of this size that passed the baton to all the others created. The ceremony was attended by political, cultural and religious personalities of the Euro-Mediterranean countries.
Danilo Amerio with Antonio Voria performed in a concert in honor of the "Totem of Peace". On the occasion of the tenth anniversary, the International Committee for the Totem of Peace decided to propose to the municipality of Rutino as owner the space where the Totem of Peace is located to the late mayor Michele Voria who was the first promoter and architect of the realization of the monumental work in Rutino.
The "largo Michele Voria" is the right recognition for the work he carried out..

LEBANON ON FIRE AGAIN

The Fondazione Mediterraneo is close to the Lebanese people - to whom 30 years of friendship and cooperation are linked - in this terrible tragedy.
As has happened several times, Lebanon will know how to rise again. In a special meeting of the International Scientific Committee, the serious question of this country and possible interventions of aid and solidarity will be addressed.

THE INTERNATIONAL COMMITTEE OF THE FOUNDATION EXPRESSES SOLIDARITY FOR LEBANON

During an "ad hoc" meeting, the international committee of the United States of the World expressed solidarity with the Lebanese people, victims of the serious explosion that caused innocent victims and destruction.
“We are close to the Lebanese people to whom 30 years of friendship and cooperation in this terrible tragedy bind us. As has happened several times, Lebanon will be able to rise again ”this is the final declaration of the meeting which decided on concrete initiatives for the protection and safeguarding of the damaged cultural heritage.

ANNIVERSARIES AT THE MUSEUM: ONE HUNDRED YEARS SINCE FRANCA VALERI'S BIRTH
