150th anniversary of the Italian Unity: President Napolitano visits the OGR

The President of the Republic Giorgio Napolitano visited the exhibition held in the Great Repair Yards (Officine Grandi Riparazioni = OGR) complementing the organisers. On this occasion the Fondazione Mediterraneo presented the Tricolored Totem for Peace which shall be held in Turin on the 4^th May.

Parliamentary members of the Scientific Council of the Fondazione Mediterraneo took part at the Chamber of Deputies in the celebrations of the 150th Anniversary of the Italian Unity. The President of the Republic Napolitano gave a speech with a strong call to Unity.

Mediterranean Award "Social Solidarity" 2011 to Diana and Alberta

The Mediterranean Social Solidarity Award 2011 was granted to Diana Pezza Borrelli and Alberta Levi Temin (Jewish-Christian Friendship).

The Award was given on Thursday 17^th March 2011 at the Centro La Pace in Benevento on the occasion of the Forum “Dialogue and Brotherhood: the heritage of Chiara Lubich” held within the framework of the events planned on the occasion of the Award Fraternità Città di Benevento.

The Award was given by Carmine Nardone, as representative of Fondazione Mediterraneo, who read a message by President Michele Capasso.
