The XXXIV World Youth Day was held in Panama from 22 to 27 January 2019. Pope Francis thanked the archbishop of Panama, José Domingo Ulloa Mendieta, for his welcome and splendid organization.
The theme chosen by Pope Francis is inspired by a passage from the Gospel of Luke: "Here is the servant of the Lord; It happens for me according to your word ", that is to say the words of Mary to the announcement of the Archangel Gabriel.
Over 700,000 young people from all over the world attended the concluding Mass on 27 January 2019: the same day when the "Memory" of the Shoah is remembered and the same day on which in a Filipino island the Islamic terrorists killed dozens of people in a cathedral.
And it is Pope Francis who summarizes the message for young people:
"Not tomorrow, but now. You are the 'now' of God and you must live with the passion of love ".
The Fondazione Mediterraneo and the Federazione Anna Lindh Italia, not-for-profit took part in these days, bringing the thirty-year contribution of initiatives in favor of young people to help them become "positive hunters" and "future producers".

The seventh edition of "IMUN - Naples" was held in Naples - at the headquarters of the Peace Museum - MAMT and in collaboration with Fondazione Mediterraneo - the largest simulation of diplomatic processes organized in Campania with the participation of more than 400 Italian high school students.
The Model United Nations are simulations of the General Assembly of the United Nations or of other multilateral bodies, in which students engage and deepen the themes of the international political agenda, wearing ambassadorial and diplomatic roles. In fulfilling this role, "delegate" students carry out the typical activities of diplomacy: they hold speeches, prepare draft resolutions, negotiate with allies and adversaries, resolve conflicts and learn to move within committees by adopting UN rules of procedure.
The work took place in English and saw the participation of students from all over Campania, as well as from several foreign schools.
The president Michele Capasso presented on this occasion the Fondazione Mediterraneo and the "World Peace Forum".

The Museum of Peace - MAMT has hosted initiatives in favor of migrants and refugees precisely to remember the emergence of a situation that is causing thousands of victims all over the world.
The current situation in the world has over 250 million migrants, of whom 22.5 million are refugees.
Especially in a historical moment in which the topic "migrants" becomes a thorny issue and US President Donald Trump would like to revoke the protection status to thousands of immigrants from Haiti, El Salvador and some African countries, it is necessary to act to promote integration and coexistence.
Article 1A of the 1951 Geneva Convention Relating to the Status of Refugees defines:

"The refugee is one who fearing reason to be persecuted for reasons of race, religion, nationality, belonging to a particular social group or for his political opinions, is outside the country of which he is a citizen and can not or does not want to because of this fear, make use of the protection of this country; or that, having no citizenship and being outside the country in which he habitually resides as a result of such events, he can not or does not want to return there because of the aforementioned fear ".

Precisely for these reasons, President Capasso - welcoming visitors from all over the world - has instead reiterated his concern about the conditions of those fleeing war, persecution, natural disasters, poverty.
The Fondazione Mediterraneo will participate in the 105th World Refugee Day which will take place on September 29th 2019.
