Charles-Ferdinand Notomb, former Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belgium, visited the Peace Museum - MAMT with his wife Michelle.
Accepted by President Capasso, he expressed appreciation for the section dedicated to Mario Molinari, the sculptor of color, much appreciated in Belgium with his monumental works: among all that of the port of ZeeBrugge.

Great turnout of public at the Peace Museum - MAMT for the live broadcast with the Jesuit Theological University where Pope Francis presented a report on the theme of context theology in the Mediterranean.
Previously, the Pope expressed his appreciation for the book "Nostro Mare Nostro" by President Michele Capasso with a preface by Cardinal Pietro Parolin.

The president Michele Capasso with Don Giadio De Biasio does not hide the emotion: "To hear the Pope speak of hybridisation, of the theology of the context and of dignity and fraternity leaves a sign because on these themes we have already been confronted 30 years ago and then in the Forum Civil Euromed of Naples (1997), when very few dealt with the Mediterranean. Today Pope Francis confirms that our ideas and our proposals were forerunners of the times. It is significant that precisely from Naples the Pope makes a strong appeal for a theology of welcome based on dialogue and proclamation and that contributes to building a fraternal society among the peoples of the Mediterranean".
The Pope is in Naples for the meeting on "Theology after Veritatis Gaudium in the Mediterranean context", promoted by the Pontifical Theological Faculty of Southern Italy - San Luigi section - Naples.
«How to feed a tolerant and peaceful coexistence that translates into authentic fraternity? How can the acceptance of the other and of those who are different from us prevail in our communities because they belong to a religious and cultural tradition different from ours? How can religions be ways of brotherhood rather than walls of separation? ". From the Posillipo hill overlooking the sea, these questions are intended to act as an incipit in the intervention that Pope Francis addresses to the listeners hidden under white umbrellas to shelter from the heat of the sun of Naples.
The large white stage in the square of a university, that of the headquarters of the Theological Faculty of Southern Italy, conceived as a bottomless box that frames the space of the Mare Nostrum in the distance, the "sea of miscegenation", gives an idea of that which wants to signify today this meeting of the Pope in this context: a door wide open to foster new perspectives of brotherhood between cultures and religions and horizons for a "theological pentecost", a renewal of ecclesiastical studies leading to a theology linked to reality, practice, of welcome, because even "doing theology is an act of mercy". To open the work of the Naples conference with Pope Francis was Father Pino Di Luccio, dean of the San Luigi section of the Pontifical Theological Faculty of Southern Italy, greeting the Pontiff. «In the past few months they have asked me how I convinced them to come back and participate in this conference. I think it's a special gift of the Holy Spirit ".

The Museum of Peace - MAMT has opened its doors for the WORLD REFUGEE DAY through the emotional paths "VOCI DEI MIGRANTI".
On 20 June each year the World Refugee Day is celebrated all over the world, an annual event organized by the UN General Assembly, which aims to raise awareness among the public about the condition of millions of refugees and asylum seekers who, forced to flee from wars and violence, leave their loved ones, their homes and all that once was part of their lives. And above all, invite you to never forget that behind each of them there is a story that deserves to be heard. Stories of suffering, of humiliations but also of those who managed to rebuild their own future, bringing their own contribution to the society that welcomed it.
To pursue this goal, the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) continues the #WithRefugees campaign, which aims to give visibility to expressions of solidarity towards refugees, amplifying the voice of those who welcome and strengthening the meeting between local communities and refugees and asylum seekers.
#WithRefugees is also a petition, with which UNHCR asks governments to ensure that every refugee child has an education, that every refugee family has a safe place to live, that every refugee can work or acquire new skills to give his contribution to the community. The true petition presented to the UN Assembly by the end of 2018 on the occasion of the adoption of the Global Compact for refugees.
The petition, the stories of refugees and refugees, the solidarity testimonies of representatives of the world of culture, sport and entertainment, and the list and information on the main initiatives planned throughout the country are available on the website of the campaign www.unhcr.it/withrefugees.
Among the events of celebration of World Refugee Day, which will culminate on Thursday 20 June, but will continue until the end of the month, the meetings and emotional trails of the Museum of Peace - MAMT that have attracted hundreds of visitors and sensitized young people on this topic that "will affect our future if not solved with the values of humanity, acceptance and coexistence. Today, being on the side of refugees is not only an act of humanity, it is above all also an act of courage", said President Michele Capasso.
EUROMESCO ANNUAL CONFERENCE

The EuroMeSCo Annual Conference was held in Barcelona which brought together over 160 researchers, decision-makers, academics and representatives of civil society from 25 countries in the Euro-Mediterranean area to analyze the main issues that are at the basis of Euro-Mediterranean relations.
This conference also examined the policies and strategies developed by the southern Mediterranean countries towards the EU and other partners.
The conference was organized by the European Institute of the Mediterranean (IEMed)
The Fondazione Mediterraneo, co-founder of the network, and the Anna Lindh Italia Federation participated in the work.

Pope Francis received the volume Nostro Mare Nostro donated by president Michele Capasso.
The Pope wanted to share the gift received with the section "Migrants and Refugees" directed by the Under-Secretary P. Fabio Baggio C.S. which underlined how "the foreword of the Eminent Cardinal Secretary of State, Pietro Parolin, wisely highlights the commitment - first of all of life and then of narration - of the author Michele Capasso, which is inscribed in the rejection of the logic of waste and globalization of indifference, in the hope that the Mediterranean Sea can become a frontier of peace".
President Capasso thanked the Pope and said he was flattered that this appreciation took place on the eve of the Pope's trip to Naples, in which themes coherent with the thirty-year-old action that Capasso himself leads unstoppably - at the head of the Fondazione Mediterraneo - will be addressed. for the promotion of dialogue, hybridisation and peace in the Mediterranean.
