THE TOTEM FOR PEACE AND HOLY MASS IN THE WOODS

The Totem for Peace by Molinari is increasingly becoming the symbol of peace, including at a suggestive Holy Mass in the woods surrounding Pescasseroli, where it was celebrated with festivities and dancing at the end of mass.

Father Roberto Berruti, a Roman parish priest in the suburbs of Testaccio exhorted the prayer groups and young people to spread the message of love and dialogue.

PLACES OF PRAYER WITH SISTER MARIA PIA GIUDICI

President Michele Capasso spent a few days with Sister Maria Pia Giudici, winner of the “2012 Mediterranean Award for Interreligious Dialogue”,  and Sister Monica Angulo, from the “San Biagio” (Subiaco) House of Prayer.

Sister Giudici is a renowned scholar of the Holy Scriptures and promoter of dialogue among religions, laity and atheism, and moreover, a supporter of the actions for peace undertaken by the Fondazione Mediterraneo.
During a series of long discussions, President Capasso and Sister Maria Pia Giudici reflected on the major problems of our times expressing the hope that peace would become the objective of all peoples.

YOUNG PEOPLE FROM THE ECUMENICAL YOUTH MOVEMENT MEET PRESIDENT CAPASSO

Young people from the Ecumenical Youth Movement in Pescara met  with President Michele Capasso at the Monte Tranquillo Sanctuary. President Capasso spoke of his life and the tragic situation in Syria.

The Holy Mass was dedicated to the memory Rita Capasso.

An operational meeting took place at the Secretariat of the World Urban Forum with directors of UN-HABITAT, young people and women to discuss the themes of women and youths, which are programmed for 2 September.

RETURNING TO VILLA VETTICA

The President of the Fondazione Mediterraneo, Architect Michele Capasso, went back to “Villa Vettica” in Amalfi after 33 years. 
This Villa belonged to Carlo Ponti where Roman Polanski filmed “What?” in 1972. Michele Capasso spent his early years there with his future wife Rita and carried out numerous renovation works.

"TERRE SONORE" FESTIVAL

The "Terre Sonore" Festival took place in Minori under the patronage of the Casa del Maghreb Arabo and the Fondazione Mediterraneo and was dedicated to Tunisia.
The performance of the Tunisian singer Mbarka Ben Taleb was much appreciated.

President Capasso, the Mayor of Minori Minori Andrea Reale and the Tunisian Ambassador Naceur Mestiri spoke at the event.
