YOUNG TUNISIANS TAKE THE “MEDITERRANEAN AWARD FOR CULTURE”

Together with Heads of the ALF National Networks, President Michele Capasso presented the “2012 Mediterranean Award for Culture” - the form of the “totem of Peace” by Mario Molinari - to the Head of the Tunisian Network Anis Boufrikha, President of "We love Sousse", representing young Tunisians who were the protagonists of the "Arab Spring".

THE ANNA LINDH FOUNDATION HAS A NEW LOGO

The new logo for the Anna Lindh Foundation was presented to the Heads of the ALF National Networks together with the new programme for its image and communications developed by Lebanese designer Rana Abou Rjeily. The Heads adopted the new logo after considerable debate and decided not to change its colours but to use the national colours of the members.

AWARDS CEREMONY FOR THE 7TH EUROMED AWARD TO THE "TEATRO VALLE OCCUPATO" THEATRE GROUP

The Rome-based Teatro Valle Occupato Theatre Group won the 2012 Euro-Med Award. The Awards Ceremony was held in Cyprus on 10 November 2012 at the UNESCO Auditorium, University of Nicosia in the presence of the Heads of the National Networks of the Anna Lindh Foundation. Participants at the ceremony included Andreu Claret, Director of the Anna Lindh Foundation, and Michele Capasso, President of the Fondazione Mediterraneo, who handed this accolade to Sylvia De Fanti and Simona dell’Acqua, representing the Teatro Valle Occupato Theatre Group. This year, the theme for the Euromed Award was "Youths for change, social justice and co-development".
President Michele Capasso expressed his satisfaction for the acknowledgement emphasizing that the nomination of the “Teatro Valle Occupato” was launched by the Fondazione Mediterraneo itself and has been agreed by the members of the 43 Euromed member countries.

THE MARSEILLE FORUM TO RELAUNCH THE ANNA LINDH FOUNDATION

The “2013 ANNA LINDH MEDITERRANEAN FORUM” will take place in Marseille from 4-7 April, the year in which this city is the “European Captial of Culture”. This will be a unique event allowing EuroMed Civil Society to exchange views on Intercultural Dialogue to rethink and relaunch cooperation.

The Forum will dedicate three spaces to Exchange and dialogue: the Medina, the Agora and the Intercultural Trade Fair. The Italian Network and in particular the Fondazione Mediterraneo and its President, Michele Capasso have offered their every possible collaboration given their 20 year experience in Civil Society Forums.

The Panel for the Euromed Award for dialogue among cultures met to decide the theme for 2013. It decided unanimously to adopt the theme of “Migrants as actors of mutual understanding”. Moreover, the composition of the Panel was decided for 2013: the Fondazione Mediterraneo, Anna Lindh Foundation, Bosnia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Gran Britain, the Lebanon, Mauritania and Libya.

CLASS OF 1972, SECTION “E” OF THE GENOVESI HIGH SCHOOL. 1972 – 2012: FORTY YEARS LATER!

The “unforgettable”  Section “E” of the Humanities High School “Antonio Genovesi” in Naples held a reunion after forty years. It was a wonderful feeling and confirmation of the values of friendship despite the passing of time.

THE BOARD OF THE EUROMED NON-GOVERNMENTAL PLATFORM MEETS IN PARIS

The Board of Governors of the “Euromed Non-Governmental Platform” met in Paris under the presidency of Abdelmaksoud Rachdi. The agenda discussed the future of the Platform in the light of events on the south shore of the Mediterranean and new partnership policies. Ms Caterina Arcidiacono, Board Member of the Platform, spoke on behalf of the Fondazione Mediterraneo. The Fondazione Mediterraneo, which  has advocated the role of civil society in the process of Euro-Mediterranean dialogue and cooperation since its establishment, laid down the basis for the founding of the Platform through the creation of the Barcelona and Naples Euromed Civil Forum (1995, 1997 and 2003).
