AT THE MUSEUM OF PEACE THE TWENTY YEAR OF 11 SEPTEMBER

A commemorative ceremony was held at the Museum of Peace to mark the twentieth anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attack on the Twin Towers in New York and other sites.
The significant moments of the day were broadcasted on the video wall in connection with the USA.
President Capasso stressed the importance of dialogue and cooperation to avoid the recurrence of such tragedies.
"The United States of the World - he concluded - is the only solution".

The awards ceremony took place on 5 September at 11:00, during an event in Florence, in the presence of Giuseppe Antoci and Salvatore Calleri, in the garden named after “Nonno Nino” as everyone likes to remember.
The Omcom winners are Alessio Ribaudo, Cecilia Sandroni and Gianni Scarpace for information, Walter Ganapini for the environment and Gerardo Mastrodomenico for legality.
This year one of the winners was Cecilia Sandroni (in connection from Venice to the Film Festival), the only woman awarded today, for her commitment in denouncing environmental crime active in the Val di Cornia and Tuscany area. She is an international journalist of culture and human rights, founder of the ItaliensPR international platform and member of the Foreign Press of Rome.
September 5 is a significant date as it celebrates the 101st anniversary of the birth of the magistrate Antonino Caponnetto, symbol of the anti-mafia. With this recognition we intend to honor the incisive and daily work in defense of information.
THE FOUNDATION PARTICIPATES IN THE "INCANTO MEDITERRANEO" EVENT

The Fondazione Mediterraneo participated in the "Incanto Mediterraneo" event held on Saturday 4 September 2021. A special day lived in the heart of the Cilento National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, in the company of cultural excursions, live music and tastings.
This event - says the president Capasso - is part of the cultural enhancement path of the village of Vatolla, a place where one of the finest typical products of our region is produced: the Vatolla onion.
On this occasion the emotional video "Cilento: Timeless Emotions" was presented.

Welcomed by President Michele Capasso, Alessandro Daniele and other members of the Fondazione Mediterraneo, Prof. Gaetano Manfredi visited part of the Museum of Peace - MAMT and the "Pino Daniele Alive" section.
"This institution is a reference for Naples, Italy and Europe. When one speaks of the Mediterranean, one immediately thinks of the Foundation with its more than thirty years of activity made possible thanks to an important institutional network which I joined as Rector of the Federico II University. The section on Pino Daniele is extraordinary, it provokes a strong emotion to see his guitars, records and many personal memories. We need to share more and more the memory to preserve and enhance our soul".

President Michele Capasso - as well as the other candidates for the Naples City Council - showed some parts of the video of the Foundation's thirtieth anniversary and gave Prof. Manfredi a reprint of the book "THE JOURNEY OF THE LORD NOTHING" - dedicated to his father Raffaele Capasso, who was mayor of San Sebastiano al Vesuvio for 40 years and the architect of the country's reconstruction - and of the book "NAPLES THE METROPOLITAN CITY".
AFGHANISTAN, AN END ANNOUNCED

President Michele Capasso during a press conference recalled his speech at the meeting with President Obama in 2011 when he underlined the sure failure of any military intervention or "external imposition of democracy" in the absence of a true dialogue between the different Afghan souls and cultures.
The result today is the loss of enormous resources - wasted above all for the purchase of weapons - and the useless death of many soldiers and civilians from various countries.
"Only with the UNITED STATES OF THE WORLD - concludes Capasso - it will be possible to avoid tragedies like these and restore peace, human rights and social justice all over the world".

The president Michele Capasso and the members of the international committee of the Fondazione Mediterraneo express their condolences for the death of Gino Strada.
President Capasso, after recalling his friendships, drew the profile of a man who made "giving to others" the hallmark of his life: one of the proofs is his asking Renzo Piano for a "brazenly beautiful project ”For a hospital in third world countries.

On the occasion of the hundredth anniversary of prof. Nullo Minissi - formerly Magnificent Rector of the Oriental University of Naples, eminent scholar of South East Europe, Great Man of Culture, co-founder and scientific director of the Fondazione Mediterraneo - the president Michele Capasso with the members of the Foundation and the Scientific Committee recalled the Man, the Scholar, the Master, the Brother who led and shared a thousand battles for human rights and European integration.
Thanks to his nephew Antonio who is lovingly by his side.

President Michele Capasso with Pia Molinari spoke at the presentation of the thirtieth anniversary video of the Fondazione Mediterraneo.
On this occasion, the numerous events held in Amman and Jordan were remembered: from the inauguration of the Foundation's headquarters to the International Conference for Dialogue dedicated to King Hussein, from the Cinemamed program to the Euro-Mediterranean Concert. "I would like to thank from the bottom of my heart Princess Wijdan Al Hashemi and the royals of Jordan - said President Capasso - for their consideration and sharing in supporting the Foundation in a difficult commitment to dialogue and peace".

On the occasion of its thirtieth anniversary, the Fondazione Mediterraneo relaunches the "Fighters for Peace" program in various countries. In Naples the sober ceremony with the blessing of Father Antonio of the Parish of Santa Maria del Parto.
