THE FOUNDATION PRESENTS THE EMOTIONAL VIDEO "PINO E' TERRA MIA".

On the occasion of the inauguration of the travelling exhibition "PINO DANIELE ALIVE" - in the presence, among others, of the Minister of Culture Dario Franceschini - the Fondazione Mediterraneo presented at the Museum of Peace - MAMT the preview of the emotional video "PINO È TERRA MIA".
The video contains, among other things, the main testimonies of visitors, young people and colleagues visiting the "PINO DANIELE ALIVE" section of the Museum of Peace: from Ornella Vanoni to Clementino, from Tullio De Piscopo to Peppe Lanzetta, from Dario Franceschini to Giorgio Verdelli.
This video was made on the occasion of the thirtieth anniversary of the Fondazione Mediterraneo, which saw the adhesion of many countries to the project "UNITED STATES OF THE WORLD" promoted by the Fondazione since 1990 and inspired by GUSTAVO ROL: the protagonists are the young people of all countries together to share knowledge and fight the enemies often created by ourselves (wars, pandemics, social injustice, destruction of creation, climate change, etc.). The Fondazione Mediterraneo is "preserving" the heritage of the United States of the World, which is not only the environment, monuments, archaeology, art, etc. but also - and above all - the legacy of great protagonists that deserves to be handed down as an example to the new generations. For Naples, the Foundation has proposed - among others - Totò, Eduardo, Enrico Caruso, Massimo Troisi and Pino Daniele: and it is precisely on the latter that this film was made, which also includes some of the testimonies of visitors and fellow musicians and singers visiting the section of the Museum of Peace - MAMT dedicated to him.
The title "PINO E' TERRA MIA" is intended to testify to the profound and indissoluble bond between the great musician and Naples: the city of a thousand colours that still requires a strong commitment to becoming once again a great capital capable of "Thinking European" and "Breathing Mediterranean". Directed by Michele Capasso, it is a story that unfolds through testimonies, news reports and archive footage that draw a distinctive portrait of the man and the musician. The video was made with the contribution of the Campania Region (UOD 01 - Promotion and enhancement of Museums and Libraries - E.F. 2021).

Among the journalists present were Giorgio Verdelli, Federico Vacalebre, Gianni Valentino and others.
Alessandro Daniele pointed out at the opening that the permanent exhibition is that of the Museum of Peace - MAMT, reminding the minister that it was precisely the agreement between Pino Daniele and Michele Capasso that made possible a unique and unrepeatable section of the Museum.
"This exhibition is something else, it is above all photography and I thank Guido Arari, Mimmo Jodice and the other photographers who have portrayed my father in various eras - said Alessandro - and it aims to bring Pino's music among young people in order to pass on his emotions and feelings".
Minister Franceschini recalled the value of Pino's music, which has distinguished several generations, hoping that Naples could host a high-level international music festival.
With President Capasso, the Minister recalled visits to the Museum and the importance of the World Heritage Site.

THE FOUNDATION PARTICIPATES IN THE G20 INTERFAITH FORUM

The Fondazione Mediterraneo participated in the Interfaith Forum held in Bologna (12-14 September 2021). The event saw the participation of religious leaders from 70 countries engaged in 32 working sessions, thanks to the technical coordination of the Foundation for Religious Sciences (FSCIRE) of which Prof. Alberto Melloni is the current secretary.
"The fact that Prime Minister Mario Draghi has personally attended an event dedicated to interreligious dialogue seems to me to be a significant sign of the institutional sensitivity of our government towards dialogue and knowledge between religions," said the president of COREIS, Imam Yahya Pallavicini, on the sidelines of a meeting with Draghi in which the Ecumenical Orthodox Patriarch Bartolomeo also took part.
The premier's attention was also confirmed by his speech, which, after retracing some key events of interreligious dialogue on the Catholic side, such as the Declaration Nostra Aetate and the ecumenical meeting in Assisi in 1986, also mentioned the initiatives of the Islamic world, such as the document "A Common Word Between Us and You: Love for God and for Our Neighbor," the letter signed in 2007 by 138 scholars of the Islamic world, including Imam Pallavicini, sent to all the authorities of Christianity in the world.
"Religion must be a message of love," the Italian Prime Minister concluded in this sense.
Also yesterday, September 14, a number of sessions were held that put at the same table our Italian institutions and some of the most authoritative voices of the Islamic world at the international level. The Minister of Education Patrizio Bianchi talked with Salim al Malik, the Director General of ICESCO (Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization), while the Minister of the Interior Luciana Lamorgese discussed social cohesion with the Minister of Justice and Religious Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa, the Undersecretary for Religious Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman, Mohammed Al-Mamari, and the President of the World Council of Islamic Communities, Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, from the United Arab Emirates.
There was a unanimous call for a clear distinction between authentic religions and their blasphemous exploitation for the purposes of personal hegemonies and armed struggles between factions.
During the three days of meetings there were also moments of meditation, especially on the first evening, September 11, when the prayers recited by the religious guides were addressed to all the victims who suffered atrocities in the places of worship of Buddhists, Jews, Christians and Muslims. Places of worship that, as has been repeatedly stated, should instead be only spaces to be defended and preserved as instruments of contemplation, comfort and Peace.
