Pope Francesco, in a historic trip to the Holy Land, has given impetus to interreligious dialogue and the peace process.
Of particular importance is the meeting with Patriarch Bartolomeo, the Mass in Bethlehem and milestones in Israel.
The President of the Fondazione Mediterraneo Michele Capasso pointed out during a press conference twenty-five years the commitment to peace between Israel and Palestine and milestones.
"The recent meetings with President Peres and President Abu Mazen - said Capasso - have strengthened the hope that Pope Francesco could provide a new impetus to the peace process by hosting, at the Vatican on June 8, 2014, a meeting of the prayer and dialogue.

The President of the Fondazione Mediterraneo Michele Capasso spoke at commemorative ceremonies on the occasion of the 22th anniversary of the massacre of Capaci and Via D'Amelio that killed the judges Falcone and Borsellino.

It took place May 17, 2014 in Bagno a Ripoli (FI) at the Hospital of the Bigallo the 2nd Summit of the Mediterranean on crime in the Mediterranean dell'Omcom in front of a mixed audience composed of professionals and students from the project sentries.
The Summit was chaired by the President of the Fondazione Caponnetto Salvatore Calleri.
Significant contributions were made of speakers: David Ellero of Europol, Giorgio Giombetti expert Caponnetto Foundation which controls the training center of the Green Berets of the Guardia di Finanza in Orvieto, Massimo Scuderi journalist expert Intelligencee the magistrate of Rome Paola Di Nicola.

It took place at the headquarters of the Fondazione Mediterraneo a workshop between the University of Meknes and the University Federico II of Naples on the topic "Family, Sexuality and Women's Empowerment in Morocco today."
The speakers were Professors Paolo Valerio and Caterina Arcidiacono.
In his address, the President Capasso pointed out the ancient ties of friendship entered into with Morocco since the inception of the Foundation (1989).

It was held at the Egyptian Academy in Rome, the International Congress "Cultural Diplomacy in the Mediterranean Region", co-organized with the "RIDE - Italian Network for the Mediterranean Dialogue euro-mediterraneo represented at the event by Enrico Granara, Michele Capasso and Pia Molinari.

The International Committee of the "Totem of Peace" - the monumental work of the sculptor Mario Molinari which the Fondazione Mediterraneo is building in the world - the European Union has decided to donate the work "Totem of Peace" to be allocated at the site of European Council.
The ceremony will take place during the Italian Presidency of the EU.
This decision was made official by President Michele Capasso Ambassador Stefano Sannino, Deputy Permanent Representative of Italy to the EU.
The decision to build a "Peace Symbol" was adopted in 1997 by the "Euromed Civil Forum" in Naples, organized by the European Commission.
