The Fondazione Mediterraneo with the Museum of Peace - MAMT participates in the event "Foreigners in Naples". A full calendar of events, photographic exhibitions, walks, welcoming days, etc ... that will accompany us for a whole month from 19 October to 19 November.
In particular, on 9 November 2018 the "Mediterranean Award" will take place:
4.30 pm - Deposition of laurel wreaths before the relics of the Unknown Migrant

THE RETIREES: “SOCIAL SUBURB ” OF ITALY

The Museum of Peace – MAMT hold a meeting about the topic « The retirees: “social suburb” of Italy ».
In this occasion the book “Naples: capital of suburbs” by Carmine Zamprotta was presented.
Other speakers: Fortunato Sommella, Severino Nappi, Lebro David, Carmine Zamprotta.

President Michele Capasso and Pia Molinari spoke at the presentation of "Immaginare il Mediterraneo": the number 26 of the magazine "Notebook of Mediterraneo" edited by IEMED and dedicated to intercultural dialogue and the reality of Mediterranean societies. The Spanish School of History and Archeology of Rome co-organized this event with the participation of:
- José Ramón Urquijo Goitia, Director of the Escuela Española de Historia y Aqueología CSIC;
- Michele Capasso, president of the Fondazione Mediterraneo;
- Senén Florensa, president of the IEMed Delegate Commission;
- Maria-Àngels Roque, director of área Culture (IEMed).
PROCLAMATES SANTI VINCENZO ROMANO AND NUNZIO SULPRIZIO

Today in Rome was proclaimed 7 new saints, including Pope Paul VI, bishop Romero, Vincenzo Romano and Nunzio Sulprizio.
"In particular I was thrilled - said president Capasso - for SAN VINCENZO ROMANO, born and lived in mid-1700 in Torre del Greco - my hometown - distinguished for the altruism and for the help to the victims victims of a tremendous eruption of Vesuvius ".
The Museum of Peace - MAMT will remember them with a special emotional journey.

The Fondazione Mediterraneo took part in the international meeting organized by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and which was attended by speakers from various countries.
There are numerous issues addressed with the aim of giving back to sport an essential role in the process of social cohesion.
The Foundation intervened Giusi Badalamenti who welcomed President Capasso's greetings and presented the Foundation's thirty-year activity and the upcoming World Peace Forum, which will have as its main theme "Sport tool for peace".

At the Museum of Peace - MAMT was celebrated the twentieth anniversary of the birth of the ACADEMY OF THE MEDITERRANEAN: the prestigious bodies that includes almost one hundred Academies and Institutes of high culture.
Present personalities from the academic, scientific and cultural world of the various Mediterranean countries.
On this occasion the many activities carried out over twenty years have been retraced and the video has been presented by the Academy of the Mediterranean: a resource for peace.

The president Michele Capasso visited the ship "Amerigo Vespucci" anchored in the port of Naples, next to the Totem of Peace with the urn of the unknown migrant.
Welcomed by the deputy commander and the crew, president Capasso expressed his appreciation for a unique maritime tradition and for a ship that honors Italy.
On this occasion, the titles of "Standard Bearers of the United States of the World" were awarded.
