THE TOTEM FOR PEACE TO DON LUIGI CIOTTI

The "Totem for Peace" by the sculptor Mario Molinari was attributed to Don Luigi Ciotti for his commitment against the mafias and for legality and social justice.
The "Totem for Peace" was presented by the prefect of Chieti Giacomo Barbato, the president of the Fondazione Mediterraneo Michele Capasso and by Pia Molinari during a ceremony held in the Prefecture of Chieti in the presence of a large audience and civil, military and religious as well as representatives of the "LIBERA" association from various countries.

During a ceremony held in the Prefecture of Chieti, the prefect of Chieti Giacomo Barbato and the president Michele Capasso handed over to the General of B. dott. Riccardo Piermarini - Commander of the National Administrative Center of the General Command of the Carabinieri - a copy of the "Totem for Peace" by the sculptor Mario Molinari created for the celebrations of the Unity of Italy.

The "Mediterranean Award Raffaele Capasso for legality" was awarded to the "LIBERA" Association represented by Don Luigi Ciotti.
The ceremony took place in the Prefecture of Chieti in the presence of prefect Giacomo Barbato, president Michele Capasso, Pia Molinari and civil, military and religious authorities.
Don Ciotti thanked for the recognition pointing out that its value is that of "We", as it is assigned to all men and all women who with the "LIBERA" association fight every day against the mafia and for the legality.

President Michele Capasso had a cordial meeting with the archbishop of Chieti-Vasto S.E. Monsignor Bruno Forte.
During the interview the ancient friendship and collaboration on the themes of interreligious dialogue and theology was recalled.
President Capasso recalled the extraordinary intervention of Mons. Forte on the Mystery of the Cross on 11.9.2018 and that on Cardinal Carlo Maria Martini.
At the conclusion of the meeting there was an exchange of books written by both.

Senator Luigi Zanda Loy signed the "Kimiyya" poster in defence of women's rights, expressing his appreciation for this initiative, which is part of the project of the UNITED STATES OF EUROPE, the GREAT MEDITERRANEAN and the UNITED STATES OF THE WORLD proposed with farsightedness by the Fondazione Mediterraneo immediately after the fall of the Berlin Wall, thirty years ago.

Senator Luigi Zanda Loy, welcomed by President Capasso and accompanied by Senator Lumia, visited the Museum of Peace - MAMT.
On this occasion, Senator Zanda - one of the first signatories of the parliamentary question to safeguard the seat of the Museum in the Palazzo Pierce in Naples - expressed satisfaction with the Appeal signed at international level by Heads of State and Government and representatives of the various countries.
President Capasso, during the visit to the "Memories" section, recalled an episode that involved the parent Raffaele with the father of Senator Zanda, at the time Chief of Police, showing the correspondence exchanges of 1973.

The "World Day of the Poor" held by Pope Francis was held at the Museum of Peace - MAMT.
In the refectory and in other areas of the Museum, poor and needy people have been welcomed as a small sign of solidarity.

President Michele Capasso had a cordial meeting with Sister Mira, General Councilor of the figlie of Maria Ausiliatrice of Christians, who was visiting the "Maria Ausiliatrice Institute" in Vomero (Naples).
During the meeting the itinerary that led to the realization at the Museum of Peace - MAMT of the Salesian Oratory with the Chapel dedicated to Don Bosco and Mother Mazzarello was retraced.
President Capasso donated the book "Nostro Mare Nostro" and a bag made by Syrian women whose children were killed by the madness of the fratricidal war.
