THE CELEBRATIONS OF THE 25TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE BARCELONA PROCESS ARE STARTING

President Michele Capasso participated in Barcelona at the start of the celebrations for the 25th anniversary of the Barcelona Process promoted by the European Union and the Mediterranean partner countries for a political, cultural, scientific and social partnership.
"The Fondazione Mediterraneo has been and is the protagonist of this process - said President Capasso - having carried out the main events and actions since its birth in 1995: from the Euromed Civil Forums to the Euro-Mediterranean Conferences up to the latest initiatives such as the Peace Museum and the Mediterranean. The Barcelona Process was an important opportunity that helps us reflect on what has been accomplished but, above all, on the challenges that await us in the near future".

THE REFORM OF CITIZENSHIP BETWEEN IUS SOLI AND IUS CULTURAE

The Fondazione Mediterraneo and the Anna Lindh Italia Federation participated in the seminar promoted by the foreign department of DEMA entitled "THE REFORM OF CITIZENSHIP BETWEEN IUS SOLI AND IUS CULTURAE".
After the speeches of
Alessandra Sardu, Luigi De Magistris, Sandro Ruotolo and other speakers, the president Michele Capasso underlined the importance of planning and acting referring to the global scenario of 2050 in order to propose solutions consistent with the great climatic, demographic and social issues that await us in the very near future.

THE PRESIDENT CAPASSO TAKES PART IN THE ADVANCING CEREMONY OF THE INTERREGIONAL CARABINIERI COMMANDER "OGADEN"

President Michele Capasso participated in the Ceremony of rotation of the Inter-regional Carabinieri Commander "Ogaden". General Adolfo Fischione will take over from the Army Corps General Vittorio Tomasone from February 3, 2020. General Tomasone leaves, after almost 50 years of military life, of which 21 months spent at the Command of the Interregional "Ogaden", active service in the weapon. At the rotation, in front of a training unit deployed in arms in the historic barracks "Salvo D'Acquisto", together with the flag of the war and the fanfare of the 10th Carabinieri Regiment "Campania", the Commander General of the Weapons attended, Army Corps General Giovanni Nistri, and numerous religious, civil and military authorities in the capital. There was also a large representation of Carabinieri from the territorial and specialized departments operating in the areas under the responsibility of the "Ogaden" Interregional, as well as delegates from the bodies of the Military Representation, orphans and family members of victims of duty, comrades on leave, fighting associations and weapon. In the hours preceding the ceremony, General Tomasone honored Vice Brigadier Salvo D’Acquisto, Gold Medal for Military Valor "in memory", by placing a flower cushion at the Hero's tomb in the Basilica of Santa Chiara. During the farewell greeting, General Tomasone first of all addressed a moving thought to those who sacrificed their lives for the weapon and for our beloved country, to the many wounded fellow soldiers on duty and to all the families affected in their affections. Below he thanked all the Carabinieri of the "Ogaden" for the commitment, professionalism and self-sacrifice daily in favor of the local communities and for the important results obtained in the action of prevention and repression of all forms of illegality. In turn, General Fischione expressed satisfaction with the high position conferred on him, ensuring the utmost commitment in order to further enhance the activity of the Carabinieri in the Regions of Campania, Abruzzo, Basilicata, Molise and Puglia.
During short talks with the Commander General Nistri, General Stefanizzi and General Fischione, President Capasso declared the joy and full availability of the Foundation to host the “L'Arma” exhibition in the near future at the Museum of Peace - MAMT of the Carabinieri, in the Faithful Centuries”

FEAST OF SAN GIOVANNI BOSCO AT THE MUSEUM OF PEACE

On the occasion of the Feast dedicated to San Giovanni Bosco, numerous initiatives were held at the Museum of Peace: meetings of young people, visits to the emotional itineraries dedicated to Don Bosco, common prayers in the Chapel with the relics of Don Bosco and Mother Mazzarello.
On this occasion, a celebration of Holy Mass was officiated with a moment of prayer and reflection on the work of Don Bosco for young people

THE PRESIDENT CAPASSO AT THE PRESENTATION OF "ALWAYS TOGETHER FOR THE ENVIRONMENT"

The president Michele Capasso and Pia Molinari spoke at the presentation of the Association "Always together for the environment" made up of former employees and officials of the Regional Agency for Environmental Protection (ARPA).
During his speech, President Capasso communicated his appreciation for the establishment of the "International Center for Environmental Studies" (based at the Fondazione Mediterraneo) and alerted about the risks and lack of environmental policies at regional, national and international level.
