From 8-11 November 2012, the XIth Meeting of Heads of the ALF National Networks was held in Cyprus. As Head of the Italian Network, President Capasso participated for the Fondazione Mediterraneo while Elisa Adorno presented the Istituto Paralleli del Nord Ovest At this event, the following themes were discussed.
Among others, the members discussed the Arab Spring and the role that the National Networks can play. President Michele Capasso suggested developing joint actions to valorize immigrants – a new theme for the 2013 Euromed Award – to give greater visibility to young people on the south shore of the Mediterranean. |

During the XIth Meeting of the Heads of the National Networks of the Anna Lindh Foundation, coordinated by executive director Andreu Claret, and witness statement was made by a Syrian citizen Salam Kawakibi who showed photos and artistic depictions of the massacres being committed, alerting us to the need to find a solution before it is too late.

President Michele Capasso and other Heads of the National Networks of the Anna Lindh Foundation made a tour of the two halves of Nicosia: the Greek part and Turkish part.
Capasso Stated that “we are border between borders”. Cyprus is just a few kilometres away from that tormented Middle East Region (Turkey, Jordan, Syria, Palestine, Lebanon, Israel and Egypt) and it is adopting and extremist western policy that is far from that of dialogue required to bring peace to the area”.

During the ceremony for the 2012 EUROMED AWARD received by Sylvia De Fanti and Simona Senzacqua – on behalf of the Theatre Group "Teatro Valle Occupato" winners of the Award – members and Heads of the 43 National Networks of the ALF Foundation were treated to a performance at the outdoor Amphtheatre of the University of Nicosia.

The "ARTOS" Foundation in Nicosia welcomed members and Heads of the ALF National Networks with musical performances of the Olive Tree and "Movement Epilogues" and there was also a theatrical performance by the "Roof top theatre group".
