INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON YOUTH AND THE FUTURE OF INTERCULTURAL DIALOGUE

It has been held at Fondazione Mediterraneo the Opening Conference of events for the tenth anniversary of Anna Lindh Foundation with the partecipation of all institution authorities: 42 Ambassadors members of the Governor’s board, Consultative Committee and National Networks Leader.
The Fondazione Mediterraneo has illustrated the programs for young people involved in intercultural dialogue, including through the new means of information and communication.

THE COMMISSARO ŠTEFAN FÜLE VISITS MAMT

Štefan Füle, Neighbourhood Policies European Commissioner and his wife, in visit to MAMT museum have been welcomed by president Capasso.
Füle plaused this incomparable museum listed by Unesco and expresses the will to use European grants in order to transform the expositive wings in a multimedia way, which will render the MAMT an unique exemplar in Europe.

ADVISORY COUNCIL MEETING ALF

In occasion of events for the 10 years ALF, under the presidency of André Azoulay, from the Foundation’s Consultative Board Anna Lindh (FAL) and it have been talked about the Foundation’s future. The President Michele Capasso in its speech highlighted the RIDE role as an example of good working practice. Capasso remembered Consultative Board had its first meeting in the headquarter of Consultative Board and it has been launched the proposal to open the board of ALF at Fondazione Mediterraneo.

COMMISSIONER ŠTEFAN FÜLE VISITED THE UNITED STATES OF THE WORLD

European Commissioner for Neighbourhood Policy Štefan Füle, accompanied by his wife Anna, visited the headquarters of the United States of the World, welcomed by Secretary General Michele Capasso.
Füle plaused the foundation for its 25-year commitment of the United States of the World to Euro-Mediterranean dialogue and cooperation hoping a closer involvment with European Union. Secretary General Capasso showed to Füle and his wife Historical Center of Naples.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the titles of "Standard Bearers of the United States of the World" were awarded to numerous Academics from various countries of the world who attended the international colloquium on "Ethics and Media".

LEADER OF NATIONAL NETWORKS AND MEMBERS OF ALF CONSULTATIVE COMMITTEE VISITED MAMT

In occasion of the tenth anniversary of Anna Lindh Foundation and the 25 years of Fondazione Mediterraneo the leaders of 42 national network and members of Consultative Committee ALF visited MAMT enjoying its collections and the Mediterranean memories which  the Museum hosts.

ŠTEFAN FÜLE RECEIVES THE MEDITERRANEAN AWARD CIVIL SOCIETY

During a ceremony held in Naples has been consigned the “Mediterranean Award Civil Society” to Štefan Füle, European Commissioner.
During its speech president Michele Capasso talked about the importance of Füle’s work which assigned to Civil Society’s organizations, especially those one of Mediterranean countries, a significant role in the governance process and democracy which allows them to have a crucial role. The initiative of “Structured Dialogue” between Civil Society, Local Authorities and European Union it is essential for the relaunch of Europe and in partnership with Mediterranean south shore’s countries. Commissioner Füle thanked Fondazione Mediterraneo and plaused its 25 action for dialogue between civil society and promoter of peace in Mediterranean. Joined to the event Ambassadors  from 42 euro mediterranean countries and members from Anna Lindh Foundation beside to Board of Governors, Consultative Committee and National Network Leaders.

ROMANO PRODI RECEIVES THE MEDITERRANEAN AWARD FOR CIVIL SOCIETY

Romano Prodi, European Committee President, has been appointed with the “Mediterranean Award for Civil Society”, during a ceremony held in Naples. During his speech, the Foundation’s president Michele Capasso remembered the importance of Prodi which with its foresight, as President of Commission Europe, aimed to assign a central role in European policies for intercultural dialogue. The results of the work done by "Group with high consultative level” established in 2002 – is still a reference for the euromediterranean cooperation and cultural interaction and social of the region, and it’s an important  pillar of Anna Lindh Foundation. Joined to the event Ambassadors  from 42 euro mediterranean countries and members from Anna Lindh Foundation beside to Board of Governors, Consultative Coommitte and National Network Leaders.

25 YEARS OF THE FOUNDATION MEDITERRANEAN AND IEMed

Michele Capasso, Fondazione Mediterraneo’s president and Senen Florensa, Executive President of IEMED -  the Barcellona based European Institute for Mediterranean celebrated together the 25 years of both the institutions. This was the occasion to remember the events and collaboration between two institutions which left an unforgettable mark in the euro mediterranean partnership: from the Barcellona Civil Forum Euromed and Euro Mediterranean conferences in Naples, since book publishment to thematic workshops.  “Today I’m in the house of a brother” declared ambassador Florensa hoping in the next 25 years collaboration could be closer.

XIIITH MEETING OF THE HEADS OF ALF NATIONAL NETWORKS

From 26-29 October 2014, the XIIIth Meeting of Heads of the ALF National Networks was held in Naples. As Head of the Italian Network, President Capasso participated for the Fondazione Mediterraneo while Elisa Adorno presented the Istituto Paralleli del Nord Ovest

At this event, the following themes were discussed.

  • Objectives and Strategies 2015-2017
  • Development of Networks

Among others, the members discussed the Arab Spring and the role that the National Networks can play. President Michele Capasso suggested developing joint actions to valorize immigrants to give greater visibility to young people on the south shore of the Mediterranean and events in Naples ALF+10.
Unanimous judgment by the President Azoulay, Director of Claret and participants for their hospitality and for the quality of the work.
