Category: Totem for Peace
A race against time for an impossibile mission: the creation of a traffic roundabout with the Totem for Peace within the 25th of September 2010, on the occasion of the Europarc 2010 in Pescasseroli with 30 countries delegates and internationally renowned people.
The president Michele Capasso did not stop when in difficulty and in few days drafted an operation plan, involved the economic stakeholders and started the works: a real “miracle for peace”.
At the end of the 6th Edition of “Angels and Devils”, teachers and intellectuals from different fields commented on the work Totem for Peace, relating to the territory and the traditional "Flight of the Angel".
To conclude the 6thEdition of “Angels and Devils” and the unveiling of the Totem for Peace, the Fondazione Mediterraneo presented in a world preview the "Song for Peace" written by Michele Capasso and Antonio Voria.
At the end of the unveiling ceremony of the Totem for Peace, the President of the Fondazione Mediterraneo Michele Capasso with the mayors Michele Voria (Rutino), Piero Rustico (Ispica), Mario Mangione (Vernole), Giuseppe Capasso (San Sebastiano al Vesuvio) and Franco Alfieri (Agropoli) unveiled the panel – a work by skilful artists from Vietri sul Mare, coordinated by Prof. Giuseppe De Lorenzo – representing a planisphere with the main cities in the world that will build the Totem for Peace.
