The Totem for Peace is a symbol of peace that joins both the message of Pope Benedetto XVI of January the 1st 2010 and that of the President of the Italian Republic Giorgio Napolitano of December the 31st 2009.
The master work of the "Totem for Peace" by the Italian sculptor Mario Molinari was used as part of the scenario at the Rai Auditorium in Naples, during the Ephifany Concert.

The "Totem for Peace" symbolically represents the peace process: the fact that the most important cities in the world - together with many other small and big towns - have shown interest in realizing this symbol of peace, strengthens the Fondazione Mediterraneo to go on in this long and complex way, but the only one way to go: the peace.

On January the 4th 2010, there has been in Naples the 15th Edition of the Epiphany Concert that has sealed the conclusion of the Christmas holidays, spreading again the usual peace and party message, using once again the music as a tool to exceed any barrier of race, culture and religion in the sign of a universal brotherhood.

The concert took place in Naples at the RAI Auditorium, with the exhibition of great artists.
The main theme for this yer´s edition is and for this was also presented the original work of the Totem for Peace.

During the concert the President of Fondazione Mediterraneo, Michele Capasso, announced the Mediterranean Awards 2010.

The Mediterranean Award "Silver Dolphin" 2010 has been assigned to the memory of Gennaro Pompilio, Coordinator of Vesuvius Tour Guides.

Fondazione Mediterraneo delivered this award to the memory of a man who remembered us that words are not enough, we need facts. His love for Vesuvius and tourism showed us how to promote peace and respect with concrete actions.
